You're right! That was my bad, sorry! I didn't realise I had the option to auto-sort mods turned on and it was putting SAC above ESUI every time I launched. Just tested with the correct load order now and it's all working as it should. Thanks Bonez!

That's wonderful. Thanks Bonez!! I really appreciate the swift response and fast work on this.

There does appear to still be a few issues though unfortunately. Some of the status effects are now displaying the icons correctly in the battle screen, but at least one of them isn't - Darkness/Blind is still just showing text which is overflowing into the character names. I've not been able to test all of the various status effects though so there may be more.

Also, the menu icons are still not showing next to the item names in the Item/Inventory menu (I forgot to mention that issue in my initial post but it existed prior to the update).

Another issue I've just noticed whilst testing is in the Limit menu there is no icon next to the limit break name whilst using SAC. This doesn't bother me in the slightest (in fact, I prefer it that way to be honest) but thought I'd mention it in the interest of giving you as much info as I can.

Yes, it's because of SAC. Expanded icons are not compatible with it yet.

Ah, okay. Fair enough. It's a shame but can't be helped. I'll just disable SAC for now then as I'm only using the 'Vanilla' option anyway. I've been playing the game for years with the original translation so another run through won't hurt. I'll keep an eye on SAC to see if it ever gets updated to support expanded icons and re-enable it if and when that happens.

Thanks for the info.

Hi,

Firstly, brilliant mod! I'm absolutely loving the modernised look this brings to the game so thanks to all involved for their hard work!

I'm having a small issue though - and I'm pretty sure it's something I've done but I can't for the life of me figure out what. I'm using the 'Expanded Icons - Set 1' option but the live status icons are refusing to show when in a battle. Instead it's just a text description that overflows into the character names (I'm not using character portraits in the battle screen) and looks really janky.

The thing is, it was working just fine and now it's not - but I'm not sure what I've done/changed to cause this.

I think I installed Shinra Archeology after it was working but I'm not sure. Maybe that's it? I did try to test this by disabling SA but I spent about half an hour trying to be inflicted with a status effect but it just wasn't happening lol. I'm not sure if I can do it with console commands or Black Chocobo? I'm not at the stage in the game where I have any status materia of my own.

Anyway, if it's to do with having SA installed, is there a way around it, or is it not compatible? Is there any alternate mod I can use to restore this feature without affecting anything else (as I love the setup I have, other than this one minor issue)?

If not to do with SA what else can I try? I don't remember changing anything else - either in ESUI or any other mod - since it was last working (other than possibly installing SA - though like I say this may have already been installed, I really can't remember).

Are there any logs or settings files I can provide to help, or any other information that would be useful?

Edit: I should add I'm using 7H v3.5.1.0, if it matters.

Thanks.

Thanks wdx. I'm not sure it's a server limit issue though - I've been manually downloading via the direct URLs and it's been fine.

What I've noticed though, is that if a mod is repeatedly getting stuck as described in my post above, if I turn my internet connection off and back on again (e.g. by setting 'Airplane' mode) it will then work. That could be something to do with my setup of course, but 7H appears to be the only program I use regularly that is affected so I don't know.

Anyway it doesn't really matter now as like I said I've been downloading manually and have pretty much got everything I need now, but thanks for the help all the same, I appreciate it.

7th Heaven / Cannot Download Some Mods Using v3.5.1.0
« on: 2025-01-09 13:34:30 »
Hi,

So I'm using 7H v3.5.1.0 (as I can't get v4.x working with my FF7 install) and it seems to all be working fine, apart from one major problem - some (quite a few, actually - but not all) of the mods in the 'Browse Catalog' window are refusing to download.

There are no error messages or anything - they're just stuck at 0 progress with 'unknown' in the 'Time Left' column. If I try to cancel them nothing happens - they just stay stuck in the downloads pane, unmoving. When I close 7H it asks me if I'm sure as there are pending downloads. When I reopen the downloads have cleared but the same happens again when I re-try.

This seems to be random - for example I initially tried the '60/30 FPS Gameplay' mod and it got stuck as described above. I tried it several times and the last time it worked. Then, in the same session, I tried 'Cosmo Memory' and it downloaded straight away, but then 'Ninostyle Batle' and 'Ninostyle Chibi' got stuck. Once again a few tries later they installed.

I'm not sure if this is just a server issue, or something misconfigured on my end. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to fix it, or any other pertinent information I can provide to help diagnose it?

Thanks.

Sorry for jumping in on this thread, but I didn't want to clutter the forum with a new thread on the same topic. I hope that's okay. If not please feel free to delete and I'll post a new thread.

I came here looking for an answer to the same question. You say it will work with the 1998 version, but I have that and when I try to launch the game through 7H it gives me an error message saying it looks like I'm using an older non-steam version (I forget the exact words of the message now) and says I need to re-download from Steam. I don't own the game on Steam though so I can't do that.

It used to work with an old install (from the same discs) using 7H v2.x (I think - it might have been 3.x though) but I'd like to use the updated features of the latest version if possible. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? How can I get the 1998 version to work with the latest 7H?

The game is installed to C:\My Games\FFVII so it's not an admin-rights thing I don't think.

Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind - I got it working with v3.5.1.0 so that'll do for now. I have an issue with downloads on it though but I'll post a new thread for that.
