Releases / Re: [FF7 Steam] Tifarith Mod

Hello, don't be sorry and if you didn't manage to understand what you should do that's not because you're stupid but because it may be not obvious enough for casual players. My aim is to make this mod accessible for both casual and accustomed players.

Do you mean the Jenova in the Ancient Temple (Jenova-ATOMS) or the next one (just before disk 1 end, Jenova-WAVE)?

For Jenova-ATOMS you can't heal so you must end the fight quickly. Don't use Healing Wind! It is weak to physical attacks and in the Temple you got some strong weapons (Nail Bat, ect.), you can also get the Gigas Armlet which protects against Small and boost your attack further. So strategy here is to equip your strongest weapons, boost your attack power, protect against Small, maybe equip haste+all and fight, fight, and fight again.

For Jenova-WAVE, it is weak against Comet you just got, but casts Reflect constantly. Beware the Soliton attack (Earth/Water, can be a good enemy skill if you nullify or better absorb one of these elements). So here you must protect against Earth or Water, maybe against Frog and Confusion, equip Comet and Destruct, cast Comet, then destruct and repeat the process quickly because it heals with Soliton. Oh, and summons can help too.

If for whatever reason you didn't grab the Destruct materia in Nibelheim (it is hard to miss because Sephiroth litterally put it at your feets but one can still choose not to grab it...), there is one near a bed where your sleep at the Forgotten Capital.

thank you ! i admit i was this close to giving up but your mod is good so i had to try and get an answer. there's not enough ffvII mods out there so i appreciate you creating this (and putting a casual mod because i need it against the jenovas)

v1.11 now here !

A big thanks to Zakudosukin for his expanded testing and pertinent feedbacks. Since it is a small update I cannot have taken in account ALL your remarks but the ones I haven't included here stay in my mind. So, for this version :

-Jenova-TIME get nerfed since it was way too hard. Still hard though, but now she does not drop your offenses, nor inflicts mass sleep with Clepsydra. Has now many weaknesses too. Same goes for the Hojo battles by the way.
-By contrast, starting to disk 2, Turks now cures themselves from poison if they have less than half HP. Poison-wait strategy is cool for disk 1 but after that it gets too cheap (not in Casual).
-Gigas Armlet was a bit nerfed : now +9 Strength instead of +20 (not in Casual)
-Bugged battle at the first part of Junon paths (After Lifestream sequence) were corrected.
-Now for 7th Heaven, you are explicitly invited to put Tifarith before some other mods like ESUI (thanks Kassius and Darthfleezus for having again pointed this matter).

For future versions :

-Sense don't work with bosses with less than 30k HP. That may be disturbing for some disk 2 fights. Will at least expand it at 65535 for next version.

-Unfortunately, the "bizarre Gravity materia" bug has not be corrected. Still don't know where it come from, hopefully that does not affect the game at all except adding useless materias, it's just ugly. Needs to be corrected in the future but meanwhile, don't panic.

-Jenova-THERMO is does not react to Fire or Ice items (like Arctic Wind or Molotov). That's too bad and needs to be corrected. More generally, items have been a bit disregarded in this mod, some could be rendered more useful than they actually are.

-Players are smarter than I expected and tends to understand the strategies quite quickly. I like this. As a result, I don't see much utility for the Casual Mod, I guess it will be put aside in the future (except if someone explicitly ask for it).

-Even in normal mod, the Temple of the Ancient bosses are way more easy than I wanted. In general, Tifa is very powerful, especially with her limits against physically vulnerable bosses.  On the other hand, despite being magically good, Vincent needs some stats buff to compensate his... Limited limits. All of this will need some rebalances.

-Physical E.Skills, except for 1, maybe 2, are not very useful. This may lead to a revamp with physical elements being applied differently (probably go back to the old system, but with some enemy weaknesses and physical summons or spells/materias).

-This mod needs some addition such as sidequests or optional events. Currently work on it.

I'm sorry maybe im stupide but the jenova after the temple of the ancients, I don't get what i have to do against it
