haha, there's nothing wrong in America like war, corruption, crime, death, or pollution. The song speaks the truth

There are HDTVs and cookies though xD

Ahh Soul Calibur 2, good times. Getting to play as link in that genre of gaming was like a turning point in mine and 5 friend's lives xD

5
In order I'd say:

1. FFVII
2. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
3. The Illusion of Gaia (Old not very well known Snes game, it's amazing)
4. Metroid Prime (1 and 3, never played 2)
5. Pokemon (1st and 2nd gen, after that it became fairly ridiculous)
6. Elder Scrolls-Oblivion
7. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
8. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
9. White Knight Chronicles
10. Final Fantasy XIII (I don't exactly agree with the straightforwardness of it, but the battle system is nice imo)

Haha, Yup of course. Thanks for the reviews guys! I sort of thought they were a little crowded too but they made for excellent practice to get used to working with photoshop imo.

I'll take that into mind though, later wallpapers will be more simplistic.

Completely Unrelated / A couple custom FF wallpapers
« on: 2010-11-17 06:30:06 »
Hey all! Recently I completed my first fairly good wallpaper (at least imo) and a second one came soon after as per the request of a friend. I like em so I figure I may as well shar them with a community of people who love ff as much as I do :)

Any criticism (preferably constructive, I'm still a bit of a noob with photoshop :P ) would be much appreciated. I've been spending the past few days trying to come up with new base design schemes and ways to make these things better!

And without further ado, Enjoy!

My first wallpaper (practical top right corner for my own nefarious purposes  ;D )

http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=4&u=15758531

And a requested wallpaper, FFX based primarily on the characters Yuna and Lulu!

http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=6&u=15758531

Again, enjoy. I hope you like em!

Edit: I tried inserting the images again but for some reason they just won't register, thanks Covarr for covering my back and making me not look like too much of a moron here :)

This is exactly the type of genre that I usually veer away from, never was a fan of GTA or Godfather, but WOW holy crap man. Even I'd play that  ;D

heheh okay Hellbringer :)

Well, I'm running Windows Vista (32 bit home premium, dunno if that matters)

My game's located in C:program files/squaresoft/

I tried running it both normally and as an admin, and got the same result for both.

Language:English

Changed the config from software render -> custom

And I did use all of the files. I'm thinking of trying something new, however, since I was gonna reformat my pc anyway.

A: I'm gonna download the game normally, install the 1.02 patch, then take all of the files from Aali's latest driver and put it in the ffvii directory.

Before installing any mods, I'm either just going to download the Team Avalanche mod beofre anything else (OR) right after installing the Pheonix Rejuvenation Project. When I looked the process up originally it said to install the PRP before it, but I'm having some second thoughts.

Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

Edit: Originally didn't think the home premium part for my version of windows really mattered but...well, who knows.

Edit: Nevermind, don't need help any more :s turns out I never ran Aali's config as an admin. If anyone else has that problem, it could just be that simple mistake haha... /facepalm

Thanks a ton for the help HellBringer, I appreciate the thought :)

I'm not too much of a nublet when it comes to this kind of thing, I read the instructions and followed them to the letter haha. I did set the config to custom driver, and all it says can be found ^ up there, "Aali's custom driver is not installed, or not installed correctly. Please re-install and try again. To download driver go to http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8306.0"
 It's really a head scratcher :s

Edit: total mistake, it looked like it would work but then it just did the same thing. Who knows, I think I may be able to get the spoiler texture pack working though, so that's a plus :)

hmm? I thought double posting was when you made 2 individual threads :s sorry, no one replied and I was just confirming that I had found what I was looking for xD

Edit: I never noticed the modify button... /facepalm, I've been up all night. Anyway now I know, and thanks for the reference :P it's an inside joke I share with another Yuffie-fan friend of mine after seeing a vid on youtube. I think it was a modified yuffie/vincent date made by someone on this site actually haha

Damn I feel stupid for posting this, I assume it's something that should be obvious, but I'm "desperate!" I've heard so many good reviews of the project and it's so unfortunate that it's the only mod I can't get to work...heheh

So, I went and downloaded the most recent version of Aali's Graphics Driver, and it works just fine (Vista sucks, but it does have openGL)

I installed it just like the forum described:

Extracted all of the files to my ffvii folder

Changed my OpenGL.cfg (just changed the window size)

and every time in the past like 40 attempts of downloading Team Avalanche's low res it kept telling me that I've failed to install it, or that I've installed it correctly...

It seems like it should be almost painfully simple, is there anything I'm missing?

I've seen that! Very respectable action on the part of all the people who run this forum though, I'm always glad to see a very active forum.

I guess I will continue actions on here though, there's some questions I've got for a few mods which I'd really love to have answered, hopefully I can find some answers during a good forum browse! :D

Very well, I sort of just skimmed through the rules because of non-forum related things, thanks oodles though sl, I'll make sure to avoid anything over a month old then :)

I know that, it was my simple mistake and I figured everyone should know that my being dumb was the reason I should apologize. I just read over the rules, figured out I think I spammed or something, but anyway I completely contradicted myself by posting again! Hoo boy :D

My apologies Obesebear D: Like I said, sort of new to forums, I don't know what's dead and what isn't. I'm not entirely sure what "forum necromancy" or any of that stuff is either, it sort of has me scratching my head . In any case, I've decided I'm just gonna not post anymore stuff because it apparently annoys people :s

Thanks for the warning though, happy foruming! :D

Possibly if you were able to get the materia/spheres (I'm thinking they're supposed to represent materia for coolness's sake :) ) to rotate around the main savepoint, sort of like a gravitational rotation effect ^^

I dunno if you've still got that savepoint, I'm hoping a mod for a savepoint becomes available soon, since Mike's was taken off megaupload :( Great job so far from what I can see though :D

apparently this topic is super old, but I thought this was funny also. Sephy related hilarity is always a good change of pace  ;)

I looked through this for a while myself, I just did trial and error until I got it lol.

Anyway, in the ac cloud mod which I got, I discovered that ragnarok and ultima weapon are under the files rtcy and rtcz (ragnarok has a pretty cool replacement imo too.)
just put those into your battle.lgp after installing millenia's weapons and you should be set :)

I couldn't get this to work with the APZ model, probably because weapon and character textures are connected (?) idk, but it works with the ac model, hope this helps!

wow lol, okay for any answers. A: you can get Omnislash in disc 1 after getting the tiny bronco for 51k (at least in the pc version) and B: it only takes about 30-45 mins to get 65k bp, just get the "all materia broken" handicap for the last battle and you're pretty much guaranteed 10k+points. to make it easier, I'd suggest getting your limit break about halfway-3/4 full before starting, have restore and an enemy skill with "big guard" on hand, and make sure you're fully healed! :)

But yeah this prooooobably shouldn't be in this section of the forums.

Oh, also if anyone else typed this stuff up, I only read about halfway through the comments, so I'm sorry and you get the credit for the earlier response! :D

Huh, I didn't really notice many references. Then again, it seems like that site hasn't been updated in a while, when I asked for help in the chat box I didn't get a response till 3 days later from a random person who wasn't even a moderator  :-\

edit: Alright, I found some pretty good software in which I could make models from scratch. Now that I've figured out a decent amount with photoshopping, I'm gonna take a crack at this  8-)

General Discussion / Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!
« on: 2010-11-15 06:14:12 »
First off, I'd like to thank all the modders out there who've been giving their own time to improving all of our gaming experiences. I'm fairly new to the forum, but I've gotten plenty of the mods from finalfantasy7pc.com and just discovered that they were from this forum a few weeks ago (dumb me, I know  :-D )

Anywho, if this were only a thank you note then it'd be in the "Completely Unrelated" section! I'd like to ask if anyone knows of some sites that have good mod-creating tutorials of the retexturing type (I'd definitely like to follow in the footsteps of some esteemed model makers like APZ freak, Milennia and all of them...without using their models of course!  ;) )

At the moment, I have about....0 experience in the field, but career searching is going slow, I've been stuck at home and I don't have school at the time so I'd really like to figure out how to do something new :)

Any information would be deeply appreciated! ^^ I'd search right now but it's been a long day and it's quarter after 1 as it is  :o
