Final Fantasy VII Origins: The Lifestream .Net
« on: 2010-07-01 07:19:21 »
How much do you know about the original concepts of Final Fantasy VII?

Did you know Yuffie was supposed to be a foul mouthed bounty hunter who likes money? Or that Clouds original character design was a lot more anime then it is now? Jenova was not only part of the plot, it was also going to be an ability!

I don't know how many of you have found this, but this website has a lot of stuff on the story part of Final Fantasy VII, rather than the technical stuff like we do.

Specifically, check this link out for the Origin's stuff: http://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7

I've already seen a bit of this, but not the majority.
It is indeed very interesting; especially seeing how these aborted ideas inspired future characters and events in the Compilation (i.e Cloud's original existence and Sephiroth's remnants)

It would be nice to know about drafts even more previous to these ones. From what I've read, FF7 was originally a detective story where you followed avalanche on their bombings. I'd like to know what that storyline was like.

Reminds me, I just went through all the stuff in my room. And I have stacks waist high on manga, book, game storyline ideas. One for a manga in particular. But it was fun reading all the different versions and the changes I made. I ended up saving some of the old stuff just to fit into the new material for nostalgic purposes. That manga will start once I get tired of my webcomic. Sad to say though, webcomic in development for a month. Manga idea in development since middle school (now 23yr lol)

I also saw a site before that gives info that Cloud will have a long hair and the villain Sephiroth will have the spikey hair although it was changed.

Apparently, Square asked fans about a remake. Here are the details:

I just realized something, people in the FF7 fangroup have gotten into it like Trekkies and StarWars fans. More so then other final fantasies or even most other games/series that I can think of.

I worry that if a remake was created this place would get shut down.
I mean, I would definitely still buy a remake. I would love a remake! But I wonder about this place's future.

I highly doubt that this place will go down if there's a remake. I mean people here loves to mod stuff and wants to play things they've done on their own. :)

I imagine that any remake will be so terrible that no one will stop bothering with the original version of the game.

That just looks like Zack... O_O

Timu showed me this a while ago, it shows different builds that they were considering giving Cloud. I think the supah buff manly one to the right looks funneh :P

The one on the left is good for the flashback scene since he looks like a kid there. The 2nd one is the best. :) Really happy they didn't go with the one on the right. He looks like he's been fighting with Barret the whole game to have big muscles like that. :-D

Yeah the one in the middle is what they went with.
