Works. Then does'nt work.
« on: 2013-05-26 14:55:42 »
Got bootlegged FF7 working.  Played it the last 2 or three days.  Only up to the 65th floor of the Shinra building (like 2-3 hours in) .....
Not really the point how far i am but still it was working and i have changed NOTHING since.  Now it wont even load up.  I click "Play" and i get a Black screen which switches to a slightly less black screen and then i get back to my desktop.

Suggestions?

Go into FF7Config.exe and go to the sound tab and pick your sound driver again.

Lol i never would have thought the "Sound Driver" would keep it from starting.  However now i have missing sounds :( ...(From what i can tell its just the SFX from like cursor movement, Example being the "New" and "Continue" when you move the cursor theres no SFX as well as no SFX in the main menu once in the game

When you switch monitors the driver thing usually happens. That's the only time I've encountered it.

Changing outside hardware, which inadvertently attempts driver changes, seems to affect the game's FF7Config settings. This pops up often enough that I'm taking note of it and will probably add it to the the FAQ section. I don't mind questions like this, since it helps find the bugs we need to know about. Sorry to say, but Bootleg is still a beta phase application, and the public is our main tester  :-P
