FF7 Menu Cursor glitching
« on: 2013-07-07 22:29:58 »
So I followed the Tifa's Bootleg tutorial, used the author's presents when selecting mods, and configured the BootLoader. After the intro scene, I'm brought to the menu with "Continue?" and "New Game" options present. The problem is that it seems to think a directional button is being pressed. Unplugging my keyboard and mouse didn't stop it, so I don't know what it could be. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem (although I have a laptop) and a friend of mine (whose job is repairing computers) helped me fix it. Here's what you can try:

Unplug the keyboard and push down every key. Not one after the other, but apply pressure to all keys, many times, and then let it rest for a few minutes. Plugging it back afterwards, it may or may not be fixed (that's a suggestion like any other, that may not be your issue). If that's the issue, it will discharge the capacitors and the key will be "un-stuck".

Thanks, but it doesn't seem to be the keyboard.  I've tried launching it with different keyboards and even without having one plugged in. It still thinks a button is being pressed somewhere. Thanks though

Do you have connected any kind of GamePad or Joystick?
Maybe this devices cause the error.

Thank you, this is what I needed. No device was connected, but disabling the HID-compliant game device in device manager solved the problem.

No device is connected, but the driver thinks a button is pushed upwards?
This is totally new for me   ;D
