Problems with Final Fantasy VIII and D3D

I'm having a problem with Final Fantasy VIII's world map.   Here's a screenshot of the problem, http://www.geocities.com/moofookoo/ff8graphics.jpg
Does anyone know a fix for this?

I'm running Final Fantasy VIII on a p4 1.8Ghz, 512 Mb RAM, GF3 Ti200, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, and WindowsXP

Sorry but I'm not really seeing a problem there...? Could you be more specific? :-?

Oh and yeah, the graphics are always like that on the world map (for me at least).

The textures aren't aligning up properly on the world map, causing outlines around the textures that make them look like a square.  Here's another, and hopefully better, screenshot.

LOL they are like that :)
in the Direct3d mode they are using some crap filtering ontop of the psx textures which already are dithered, and each tile looks a right mess, and to boot it off, its alot slower then the psx as well when panning your view

Ah, okay.  I wonder what Square was thinking when they did that....?  Oh well, it's ugly but I'm use to it now. :)

Now if I could only get myself started on the story.:D   I've put over 20 hours into the game so far and haven't even gone after Ifrit yet.

haha nope, Squall is level 13 and Quistis is level 10, but they both are uber-powerful.  My Squall has over 2k HP and 52 strength going into the Dollet mission.

hehe....I put in over 37 hours before I even went after Ifrit.:)  I was having too much fun playing Triple Traid and refining the cards to items to spells.

haha. u should train ur character. They are super easy to train. 3 characters at lvl 100 means u can beat the game very easily.. lolx

i had my character at 9999hp and 100+ strength at the starting of the game... LOL :S

did u get tornado? tornado is good for ur strength...

Oh I'm not worried too much about leveling.  From what I can tell leveling seems like it's pretty much useless since you can make uber-builds by junctioning.  I'm sure by the time I get to the end of the game I'll have all my characters to 100, but right now I really don't see a point - unless the game gets too easy.:D

lol, yep.  I currently have 400 of them, and another 200 ready to be made. :)  Like I said I spent a LOT of time refining cards to spells.

you are too extreme, the rest of the game wont be much fun
look at dollet after for some more card players, and in that sea port town (forgot the name), and rinse all of those people for their cards :D

lol what can I say?  I love playing Triple Traid.  Also I had a feeling that I had probalby made the game too easy, so I decided to gimp myself and only junction magic that I draw from monsters for awhile.

You have to be careful not to make your characters too powerful. I used a save once where the characters were too powerful and you will find it difficult to kill the robot boss from the communications satellite! Square sure made that funny in which you are not really allowed to level up too much at the start of the game...  :-?
