A warning...
« on: 2001-09-11 03:38:00 »
The new Nvidia 21.80 Detonator 4 drivers, while much faster and assists in more drawing functions, seem to break the gfx in FF7.  I mean to the point of being unplayable.

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Wait untill I give it the go. I'm just about to try them out. I know a few tricks to getting FFVII working

I know why already. The new drivers have 8 bit pattled textures enabled by defult. You can play FFVII fine with out the TNT selected in the config box but the text will be screwed.

I tryed to disable the 8 bits like I usely do with Riva Tuner but that dosent seem to work with the new drivers  :(

Guess I will try NV-Max or wait for the next vers of Riva Tuner.

Actually I'm not using the TNT patch...
8bit palletised drivers have been ennabled since Detonator v.12.41

Edit: It's looking equally bad with/without the TNT patch for me.

Is the text screwed up? If it is then its becuase you are running with the 8 bits on. Before I got 2040 I oculd turn then off and on with Riva Tuner...but now I cant  :(

I've used both Detonator drivers v12.41 and v14.10
Text is not screwed with 8bit pallete support on or off, using or not using the TNT Patch.  There are no noticible graphical anomolies for me at all.
