I'm hoping u may be able to help me out. i've been looking through the posts to find out if there might be a fix for the problem i am having during the game (the elevator in junion causes my game to crash). From the posts, the only way to get past this is to have someone with a "working copy" take me past this point. Is this true or has someone else figured out a way around this problem?

It's probably a bad movie...that elevator movie is on all of the disks... You can copy the movies to the harddrive, edit the registery for FF7, and then copy the elevator movie from one of the other disks.

Actually it's not a movie crash, i've had all the movies on my computer for stability (the game seems to work better that way  :-? ) The movie plays just fine but after the movie the sound of the elevator keeps playing and the game crashes.

No big problem though, I just remembered you can use the dolphin to skip straight to the cargo ship but this glitch is still interesting.

If it's the sound...then type dxdiag, and turn down the Direct Sound Acceleration...put it to basic or standard. This fixes a lot fo sound related problems with older games. One crash I know it fixes for me is the Dolphin jump part. My PC would crash when the sound of the splash played.

The game that I've notice befitting most from this is Morrowind.....but that may be because I'm using a SB-live with non-updated Sound drivers....thanx to my Win98 system and Creatives' lazy programmers, of not updating that Win98 driver. Same may hold true for the Dolphin jump crash on my machine. Which basicly, means.......it may not work for you. It may be Win98, Sb-live exclusive..
