I personally have suspitions that its installing, or rather not installing, Duck truemotion that causes the problem. First time around I dindnt install it and when I did my problems went away. You should be able to get a  copy here... :http://ssftribute.emuunlim.com/downloads.html if like me you are to lazy to hunt around a huge pile of CD's on your desk.
