Author Topic: FF7 1.01 and 1.02 patches. (Read 3250 times)

I got bored and thought i might try out these patches to see if there is any perfomance gain or looking better etc.

Currently i can run only in software mode that's using a nVidia Riva TNT2 card and it works basically perfect but when using the 1.01 and 1.02 patches it either crashed in battles wont load the world map or doesnt go at all. That is with Hardware Acceleration chosen with either Riva 128 or TNT option boxes checked.

Considering my card as far as i know is exactly what these patches are supposed to be for why are they so crap lol.

EDIT: Additionaly when the game actually loaded the worldmap before a battle and crashing it sounded like my pc was about to die and lagged here and their.

...what 1.01? (though that'd make sense.. i wondered why there was a 1.02 and not a 1.01...)

world map can often be fixed by setting windows 98 compatibility mode

So if i set compatibility to 98/ME it should work using hardware rendering.

That's a real pity if it worked cause im using my Sis 300 32mb card now and im too lazy to swap over again especially when the drivers for this card take next to no ram at all i love it.
