American titles...yes.  And there are a few comming out next year with this feature.  Sorry I did not mention that previously.

EDIT
One such game, entitled Starglade, allowed actual players to hire themselves out as henchman.  That would be a great feature to see in these next generation MMO titles.

Guess i wont be getting ffxi then.

I wanted to do a solo ninja / thief type character, but if it's too party reliant it would just be a pain in the arse, im not online enough to play with a clan or groups. just a casual player.

Exactly the reason why I quit.  I was way too casual for the game so I never really got into a set group or clan.  The only way you can progress through level 15 and beyond is to group.  There is absolutly no way you could solo with a Ninja/Thief class character for long anyway and that's a shame.  Just wait around until a more solo friendly MMO comes around.  It looks like there are a few on the horizon for 2006.

Actually ive started to look at D&D online now, because simply i liked baldurs gate series which use d&d rules and also its not too hard to solo with the d&d rules. The screen shots look not bad either.

Any one who's tried a Kensi/Mage character in bg know what i mean by soloing. for those that dont
- a kensi is a close range katana weilding expert who cannot use armor but recieve's an armor bonus because his so nimble, agile and bloody good with a sword combine that with a mage that cannot use armor anyway but now has been given a bonus to his armor class from the kensi and you now have a character that can handle every combat situation.

---- edit ------

btw i forgot to ask has anyone tried ragnarok?? the graphics remind me of old school FF

I have also heard good things about D&D Online.  I was a big Neverwinter Nights fan, so I might have to check it out.  D&D Online is going to take place in the new world Eberron.  This will be an interesting approach because the developers can change the worlds attributes and rulesets because there are not any precedents.  There's also a rumor you will be able to hire henchman, just like in NWN.

I didn't like NWN the mixture of 3rd and 2rd rules ruined the whole thing for me. The two expansion packs were great compaired to the original. The development kit for the game however was excellent.

I hope they include some kind of prestige classes in D&D online because they were a good idea. I played nwn as a shadow dancer.

Eberron should be interesting setting because every type of creature exist there so the game will not be limited as to what you will find.
