FF VII Save Editor

Does anyone know where I can download a save editor or some kind of program that allows you to save anywhere? I really need this because each time I alt+tab out of FF VII, the game crashes. I also get very annoyed when something happens like a popup comes up or my computer freezes, and I have to go way back to where I last saved. I tried to search this forum, but I don't think anyone ever mentioned this. Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Have you tried using the FF7-W patch?   It makes the game windowed so you can use windows when playing the game...

I think you can just use the Jenova editor and give yourself 99 save crystals. That way you can just use it anywhere...theoretically...though I'm not sure what the restrictions on that item are.

I read about the windowed mode but I think there too many bugs with that. The save crystals help, but is there any specific program that lets you save anywhere?

ff7w is great I'm using it often, without save anywhere but everything besides this and cheats works fine ;] those two are untested by me.

I think there is an option in ff7w to let you save anywhere as well.  You have to be careful and save in a place that makes some kind of sense — I remember a post from someone who saved at a wierd time and was unable to load his game back (but I don't remember the specifics).

Okay thanks, I'lll try it. If anything goes wrong with Final Fantasy VII in windowed mode, is there a way to change it back to the normal fullscreen mode?

I dont think the save crystals let you save anywhere though, and only work in the northern cave. =(
