New Final Fantasy 7 Problem
« on: 2006-05-19 19:05:29 »
Alright, I know that this forum DESPISES random cries of "help!"

However, I have read through the FAQ, tried the 1.02 patch, tried AnimeVamp's XP patch, uninstalled it, tried again, uninstalled the game, reinstalled.

No luck, everytime I start the game I get past the Eidos 'title' and all that, to where you select new game or continue, I select new game (no saves) and I get a message that says:

"FF7.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvienience." The Send Error Report/Don't Send message, if anyone has ever gotten this.

The game doesn't even start, I cant even see the opening cinematic before it does this.  I'm running a new computer, Windows XP, a fully legal version of the game I bought a LONG time ago, from walmart for $49.96.  I was hoping someone woudl have a suggestion?  I have searched high and low, and the only 'fixes' I have found are the 1.02 patch, AnimeVamp's patch, and things for Cinematics and the Chocobo races.  Neither of which I can even get to to see if they work or not.

Thank you for whatever help you can offer.

First off, dont touch the animevamp xp patch its SCUM!   :|
(replaces windows system files perm)

Only install 1.02 from Eidos, tntpatch...

try it again after you delete everything, after uninstalling..physically go and remove the ff7 folder.

If this don't work check your cd's they may be damaged and you can have EIDOS send you a fresh copy i believe.

They don't do that anymore so if you need a new copy you have to hope you can find a copy on e bay or you are SOL
