PC version of ff7

Can anyone help me?....

When I run FF7 for my computer it crashes on the first battle scene or if i try to use the menu....I use windows 2000 can anyone help?

Maybe, Only if you give us more information though.
Specs?
Ultima version? (if so, you might as well just delete it becuase we've had a lot of people here with the Ultima version and problems and it's illigal so we won't help anyway..)

Well I know that the game crashes at the first battle when you switch to another programs before returning to the game (with alt-tab for example).  If you are not doing this... do you use any patch?
