Hi, I'm playing FFVII for the first time (after playing through the whole of FFIV, FFV, FFVIII and most of FFVI) and there are some things that just downright bug me about my PC FFVII that seem so weird to have made it into this game but not others.
The three problems:
1) Monsters seem to unerringly attack the person who I just revived with a phoenix down...regardless of how long I wait for their turns to be over and how quickly I choose to do a phoenix down/cure combo. This usually results in a wasted 1000 gil.
2) It is ridiculously hard to target the monster that you want to target. By this I mean that between certain views not allowing you to target backrows (like when I fight those russian dolls near the port city on the first disc) and the cursor targetting characters who move near the enemy to attack, this problem does not seem to be in any FF's prior to 7 or in FF8.
3) Movement in the 3d view (anywhere but the map essentially) is kind of haphazard, and up does not always mean up-left or up-right. I find that this happens in FF8 too, but it's slightly easier to deal with because it uses more than 4 directions.
These are the annoyances that I have identified, and here are my questions:
1) Is this specific to the PC version? (Or even my PC version?) This seems pretty ridiculous, although it does mean that I won't feel compelled to spend 1000 gil on an essentially useless item.
2&3) Is this specific to the PC version? It sounds like I just have to learn to deal with this, which is fine, I don't mind. Has anyone else experienced these and what are your thoughts?
Playing this game kind of reminds me of playing FF4...the interface annoys me but I have to get used to it to really experience the game.
