Final Fantasy VII: Milk it

From Kotaku:

Quote
From there we moved to an onslaught of Final Fantasy VII trailers for games every platform including the kitchen sink. FF VII Snowboarding, FF VII Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode, FF VII Crisis Core, FF VII Before Crisis and last but not least FF VII Advent Children Complete to come out on Blu-Ray in 2008.

Geez. And I seem to remember that once upon a time Square didn't make sequels. Or prequels. Or whatever-equels. Well, at least Final Fantasies weren't sequels, some other titles might be another matter.

I think that Square is hell-bent on showing Gainax that they can exploit FF VII more than Gainax can milk NGE. ...which would be quite an achievement.

Just you wait, one day there will be Final Fantasy VII ero-game. Oh, and dating sim too, of course. Could be the one and same game, naturally.

Unfortunatly thats the new Square strategy since they hooked up with Enix.
Every FF from FF12 onwards is going to be like a mini series. Well FF11 had several releases as well...
Why couldn't they release FF12 on a next gen format? The PS2 is well out of date for that game..

They've been working on it for so long, it'd seem like a crappy ps3 game but a neat ps2 game, so I guess it would sell more.
