Help when trying to patch the YAMP files

hey everyone,

on my pc at home, i was able to install all the patches successful. that was an xp operating system.

however im trying to to the same on my pc at university, (its different) vista operating system, quad core, geforce 8800gt, and cant.

im getting this message

ive tried running in different compatibility modes, running as administrator etc

anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps your files are read-only. Just change the read-only attribute of the FF7 game folder and all of the files within.

ok right this could work, on properties of the ff7 folder the "read only folder" is clicked, however when i un click it and go through the permission process, it comes back on whenever i check again?

any ideas?

Just move ff7.exe out of "program files" folder...
patch it and move it back...

works for me perfectly

sorry do you mean just the ff7.exe or the whole folder? thanks

just the "ff7.exe"

YAMP do only patch the ff7.exe, and vista don't allow yamp to patch anything in "program files" folder....
