FF VIII & Detonator

There are many discussions here about GeForce and spoiled graphics in Final Fantasy VIII with the last versions of drivers. Is here somebody who can tell me what version of Detonator can i use to make graphics better - because my screen in the game changes colors etc. Or is there any other way?
