In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud's uniform is blue. However, in Crisis Core, the SOLDIER 1st class uniform is black. At the end of Crisis Core (beginning of VII) there's an FMV where Cloud is on the train and his uniform is BLACK. So... WHY WUZ IT BLUE?!

I just wanted to see your replies.

I think it isn't blue. In the original game it was purple but in the CG render it was kind of blue and in the CC its black so it is square's fault for being inconsistent but personally cloud looked good in any of those color.

I liked purple. It's not the first color you think of when you think "SOLDIER, 1st Class", so the uniqueness was refreshing.

I'm pretty sure the creators said that black was just too hard to see in the field, so they made it a dark purple. It's black in CC because graphics have progressed leaps and bounds since 1997.

I agree with furzball. Looks black to me. But sometimes it looks like blue to me too. Just look at the advent children cloud, I know it supposed to be black but sometimes the turtleneck looks kinda bluish in the light.

I agree that it is supposed to be black. If you look at black chocobos from earlier games, they are actually purple.

But I like the purple. Tough guys don purple:
Galvatron
Windu
The Ravens (Okay, actually I dislike the Ravens, but I'll concede they have some manly men.)

Ganondorf is in black armor. Although his punches gave a purple glow when you used him in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Oh wait, I got another villain. Eggplant! I believe there was an eggplant on newgrounds but the one I'm talking about is from the old SNES comic/toon where the hero was a kid with an SNES controller as a belt buckle and a SNES gun as his weapon.
