First 3d Model Project
« on: 2010-12-02 06:20:35 »
I hope this is the right place to put this, my apologies if it isn't.

This is my first 3D modeling project ever, it's based off a character I've had for a while now.

Here is the concept art:

Here is what is modeled so far:

I strayed from the original concept's design and hair because it wouldn't form the way I wanted, so instead I started a new hair style from scratch. I made a sphere and started pulling out various spikes, and "combed" them to my liking.
I only changed the models colors, to give a taste of what his color scheme will be, I want to make a mesh for him, and maybe just slap the purple mask over the face. I am not sure what the best way would be to approach this, any critiques or comments would be extremely helpful. Also I used a plane and the bend function to make a cape, but it never shows up in the renders, is it too thin? Is there also a way to layer thee objects, so that other arts of his body won't be swallowed up? (For example, his chin is somewhat absorbed by his chest)

This is my very first model, I hope it's not too bad!

Once again, if anyone could help me, by telling me what could be improved, or how to make a mesh/skin, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
