PS1 copy bought on day of release, still in mint condition and locked away in a safe place. I also bought a platinum release copy so I could play it again without having to run the risk of doing any damage to the original
PC I managed to get a good condition 2nd hand copy from Forbidden Planet (2nd hand game shop, sells cool manga stuff and t-shirts for emos) for only £15, not long before the game became a real collector's item. I never really used it until now though, because modding it was pretty much unheard of at the time and I was pissed off with it thinking that the PC version would look better and run smoother than the PS1 version
I've been pretty lucky when it came to having games that become pretty rare and expensive. The only one that bit me was Star Ocean: The Second Story which I had to part with £60 for a 2nd hand copy due to the fact it had a very small PAL-UK print run.
