Jenova Save Editor with the FF7 Rerelease
« on: 2013-04-09 21:32:02 »
I apologize if this has been asked before.

I recently got the rerelease of ff7 cause I couldnt be assed to get my old copy working on win 7 64 bit. I played the game all the way through, and now I want to play around with mods. I first tried the jenova save editor to do some fun things on a new playthrough... but I have a problem. Whenever I edit a save and then go to launch the game, it deletes whatever save I edited. Lost my completed playthrough save because of this. Does anyone know how to fix this? No matter what I try it deletes my saves whenever I try to play an edited save. Does anyone know of a way to change this? Wouldn't mind being able to visit the debug room again or going to areas im not supposed to after ive already been there.

Saves aren't quite the same as they were in the 1998 version, and Jenova has not been updated for the rerelease. If you want to edit your saves, I recommend Black Chocobo. It's a bit more difficult to use, but it's also a lot more powerful, works great with the rerelease, and is far more actively supported.

You also have to launch the game and wait for the saves to sync then edit the save so it doesn't get erased by the auto sync.
