More Lightwave problems...

Okay.... Is it just me, or is the 'flip' command finnicky? Every time I turn a set of points into a polygon, it's facing the wrong way. So... I flip it, and it disappears entirely.... Is there a trick to this?

you can make 2sided polygons, if you apply a 2sided material to them. There is an checkbox "2-sided" in surfaces tab.

On the polygons that won't flip, If I make them double sided, the inside face is still the only one that shows up.... Actually, I've got them all there now.. but one I get, and then save, then load the file, and the polygon turns invisible again. I delete it, select the points, make it a polygon and flip it, and it's back, but I just get the same thing again....

Edit, later on: okay, I worked on that and got it working a different way. I drew a new poly and welded it in place... now... 3 of the polys are for no apparent reason darker than the rest... I've gone into vertex paint, I've adjusted weights, lighting, everything, and these polys stay dark... Also, vertex paint won't let me recolor those polys... Any clue?
