are you working on a new engine, or are you using Darkbasic pro, and like? A remake could be a cool idea, but, maybe you should make like a  Final Fantasy VII engine. Legal issues, you know....

Ummmm It's a different engine, basically identical to the original as far as I can tell.
I don't believe they are using Darkbasic pro (whatever the heck that is).
Yes it isn't what you think obviously.
They are making an FF7 engine search the forums <and read the following>

They are making Remake to be compatible with the old file set information of FF7 PC. A new game is what they are working on that I believe is a precurser. They were looking for writters mostly (IE conten is the issue).  There are no legal issues with an engine that uses an ORIGINAL FF7 file set. IE you have to have the original game to use the new engine.  Makes sense doesn't it? :)

I really should finish working on getting the textures working and reading the skeleton information.  I just haven't had the energy ;)

well, i said that because.... you know FreeCraft? Was a RTS using WarCraft II original sprites. (yeah, you need to own original Warcraft to use FreeCraft.

Well, that project was closed by Blizzard.

Now, the project is named Stratagus....
