Hi!

Whilst searching through the forums on adventchildren.net, I came across a thread saying that an 'Ultima' edition of FFVII for the PC is available:

Replaced MIDI with mp3? Is this a real version?

The Ultima edition has been floating around the net for a while, it's not official or anything. I don't know all the details, but IIRC the compression's been replaced with a more update version to fit it on 2 cds, all/most of the XP problems have been corrected, and as you say the music's been replaced with MP3s to sound like the PS version (I think), can't remember what else.

It's certainly not legal though.

I just did a check.

Its a downloadable version of FF7 with all the patches in already, reaplaced music with mp3s from the OST and "Is only a gig" to download...

I say "only a gig" because with me being of 56K thats a hella lot..

I have downloaded it and its not worth it all it is, that they have added all videos and the chocobo patch, plus a no cd crack so it can be played from the hard drive but the music has not been repaced with mp3s or anything. so my word is don't bother about it.
