FF8 Enemy Model Viewer
« on: 2004-11-09 09:19:19 »
Did the new version of the FF8 Model viewer that was based on a previous model viewer ever get finished since there were several errors? Was it Qhimm himself that said he was working on it?

Thanks,
~SKy

Qhimm himself was working on it, managed to fix a couple of problems with the original one but got stuck trying to incorporate support for field models as well.

Qhimm: Are you sure that field ones are the problem ? I can view field models quite well (well no animations) with me viewer ... if you can view battle models then maybe we could help each other ....

Well I'm pretty much stuck at the geometry of FF8 field models (chara.one and xxxxx.mch files), having made little progress on the animation format. Are you saying that you can decode them into a decent state without animation data? (I'm asking since battle models are just a pile of body parts without animation data)

I suggest you PM me or get hold of me via msn (the only IM client that seems to work reliably on my connection)

I know I found that one FF8 enemy model viewer one time. I thought you (qhimm) had said you reversed engineered that viewer and were correcting errors in it. I recall that some of the animation data was working, correct? I still have it on my other computer, I'll check it out when I get up this afternoon.
