Yuffie Materia Quest Switch Problem

Hi,

I've tried browsing the forum to find this topic but haven't had much luck.

In the Wutai part after you get the tiny Bronco, Yuffie steals all the materia I have. After searching round Wutai for her I end up at her house. Then i get to the bit where she asks you to pull the lever and the cage drops, then she runs off again.

Problem is the cage won't drop, when i go to press the switch. Nothing happens at all.

I had a problem with the Chocoboo race but the patch fixed that.

I am using ff7.exe (ver. 102. Chocoboo patched), although i've tried it without the Chocoboo patch and still no joy (in an atempt to pass the Yuffie bit then revert back to the patched ff7.exe).

I'm not sure what to do now...

I've got a system with:

1.8Ghz Athlon
Ati Mobility Radeon 9200 (Newest Omega Drivers)
768MB Ram

Try going right up to the switch, then tapping the down key to reverse direction so you're facing away from it. Then press your action key. I'm pretty sure that's how it's done.

I had the same problem on my first playthrough. IIRC, it boiled down to it being just an extremely annoying pixel hunt. If that doesn't work, I suppose a last ditch is to try the scene in 640x480 software mode (still gotta find that *one* pixel.)

I was not facing the switch at all when I pressed it

Got it working,

Seems you have to have your back to the switch. Weird...
