HI!! i'm new and i'm italian , my name is Davide.

I've got this problem after i play many hours on the game ...
The game (while i fight normally)
Get CLOSED.. and come back to the desktop and a sender to microsoft application error appear ...

Application wich make error ff7.exe, version 0.0.0.0, module wich
have make error winmm.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, error address
0x000190ad.
Send to microsoft? ok ...

I've read the event manager... (i know , the library winmm.dll as for the plug and play (joypad) , so what do ya thinks?

WHAT DO YOU THINKS?
PS : i use a trainer for the game(original game , but patched for italian language), i've Geforce 3 Ti200 , pentium 4 , 2.0 GHz . presario , 256 mb ram, patch version 1.4 for xp ..and patch for italian language by sadness... ; maybe if me use too this trainer cheat can this make crash my pc?

please help what must i do?

Welcome to board!

Crashes under WinNT base system aren't unusual when playing ff7. Make sure you use Win98 Compatibility Mode for ff7.exe, and... cross your fingers... maybe it won't happen again...

The SaiNt's hires patch is (AFAIK) compatible only with english version of FF7, so it probably won't work, but you can give it a shot (italian version is based on english, right?).

Sorry i've win xp service pack 2 , i've put win 95 compatibility mode for ff7.exe and it crash!!! , now i try to put win 98 compatibility , but i'm not sure... -_-

PS : italian version is based on english ... but it change the ff7.exe and config.exe on italian language , example me don't have problem with crash at snowboarding or at cosmo canion , etc , because it is another version .... of patch ... what do ya think's about trainer???
I use a save game editor ... "ff7che" version 1.3.0 and i have use the trainer too , i've put 1'000'000' gil and 32'000 GP , and i've put all items on 127 total.... maybe after i play too crash becuase it as too use?

If it's based on english version, then you have a snowboard glitch built-in. You're just not experiencing the crash... Also, I don't think that it's the trainer/save-editor problem. Just check the compatibilty mode...

NOPE -_- , i've tired to made on compatibility mode win 98 ... but it crash again...

i can't put version 1.2 becuase i've patched with italian ..and if me put ff7 patch for play on ver 1.02 the game don't start because it as english and the other on italian...

well it crashes with me alot aswell... esp when i have been in a town or other thing not related to the world map for a long time, then i enter world map and first battle usually gets me out of ff7. I also have this when i alt-tabbed, yet not always. Just find out when u have the crash so you can know it in advance and safe the game and reload when u do

How about SPYWARE? it can disturb the game!
And make possible crash the joy pad , is there nothing releated with winmm.dll as spyware know?

Ok , i've try to disconect the gamepad and nothing appear ...

The game work perfect but i wanna play with the game pad! :wicked:

I would suggest installing and uninstalling all game controller drivers on your system, and checking for updated drivers from the controller manufacturer. Then I'd run the Windows calibration test, check to see that it's functioning correctly, and try to map the keys in-game.

Yeah.. try going into Device Manager... and uninstall the game controller device, unless you can do it through the game controllers in Control Panel..

It's probably the gamepad driver that not working right. I'd search the web if I were you and see if their is an updated driver for your gamepad.

I had that problem with a logitech gamepad once...Wingman, I think it's called. However.....that was with Win98SE, not WinXP.... To tell you the truth....I haven't really tested my gamepad with FF7PC.... I haven't played FF7PC for more than 10 minutes, in about 4 years, now. So I can't really comment how my old gamepad would react to FF7. But it worked fine before, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work currently.

Anyway...search around for updated gamepad drivers.
I doubt a reformat is going to fix it.

I've reinstall the gamepad and i've finish the game without any error ... but i don't know if this have resolve forever ... but i think's yes.
