At first, I thought, "sounds like a movie difficulty," and then that last "part" (it's about the only thing I can call your run on sentence :-P) confirmed it.

Yeah, I recommend you to do the following things:
- It really sounds like a codec thing. I know there's a real popular codec pack out there that always works for everyone, but I've got this one pack, K-Lite Codec Pack 2.72 Full, and it works perfectly for me, and looks nice. I forget who suggested to download it, and I forget where I downloaded it, but if you Google that entire name, you should find it.
- Try running your movies off of your hard drive. Visit EmperorSteele's site, http://www.ff7-universe.com, and go to the downloads section, the tab being located on the right. At the bottom of the downloads, there should be a link to a guide on how to run your movies off of your hard drive. Even if this isn't the problem, it'll at least boost movie compatibility and speed for you.

Somehow, I don't think you have taken full advantage of the methods I provided.

Let's see... could you please

a) Try to hit the funny keys on your keyboard. You know, the ones that produce these weird punctuation thingies? Assuming that you are capable of such heroic feat, of course.

b) At least try to post in the right fcuking forum? It says tech-support in the description of Game Tweaking. Which of the words you do not understand?

And could we please stop recommending codec packs? Please?

Sounds like you messed up editing the registry.

Go back and make sure you pointed the movie-path to the correct location, and that you put the final slash  ( \ ) in.

And don't mind Sad Jari.  Just use commas and periods, could ya?  It will save us all a huge headache.

Sad Jari is right. I mean, I've counted more than twenty "errors" in the first post and it is rather difficult to understand this way. I can understand someone' s English is not perfect, however punctuation is something learned at elementary school, so that should be possible.

And, be honest, it makes posts so much easier to read. Right?

About the wrong forums. Well, now you know in which forum to post threads like these.  :-)

I had that problem myself, all you need is the xp patch.

XP Patch as in the one released by Animevamp or the Chocobo Patch?

Because if it's the latter, please don't call it XP Patch for the sake of clarity and if it's the former... what is wrong with you (you as you in general, not as you you)?

First you recommend codec packs - which not only are as lame as codec packs tend to be - but also seem to be quite likely illegal in this particular case, and then you go into recommending a patch that rips off other people's work and while doing that fcuks up your system.

Has this suddenly turned into a Tech Support of Bad Advice, or something?

I'm getting a feeling that a sticky thread with some hard, cold reality is needed.

I'm going to agree with Jari on the codec packs — Don't trust them.  I've had problems with a lot of them in the past.
If you want to install one package that lets you play all of your videos, use FFDShow.  It's frequently updated and open source.  It doesn't even contain the kind of crap you get by installing, say, the official Divx codec.

Now, if you are having problems playing the videos in FF7, the first thing you should do is install the upside-down movie patch (which contains the approriate codec).  This is mentioned and linked to in the FAQ topic, which is stickied in this very forum.  Have you done this?

I hope there is never any reason to legitamately ask such a question on this forum... :|
