SORRY I know that this forums is for FF related questions, but I can only play MGS for PC in software mode so the graphics sucks, and I'm just thinking with exists a patch to solve this in MGS like FF7 has one official patch to make the game works with perfect graphics in new video cards like that NVIDIA support, so if anyone know something about please help me, and sorry to ask this here, I just thought that someone here can help me because there are a lot of ppl that knows how modify PC games and things like that, please don't ban me!!!! I just want to try this last tentative, don't know if it is necessary but here it is my specs:

CPU: Pentium 4 HT 3.06 GHz
Graphics Card: GeForce 7300 GT 256MB
RAM: 512MB
Operating System: WinXP SP2 DirectX 9.0

Um why not try searching for a metal gear forum, or actually using google to find these things out. Chances are there have been other people with the same sort of problem, (AFAIK) there is no patch for metal gear solid PC.

thx for the answer, I tried google but I just can't find a way to solve this, I think konami and microsoft don't support this game so my hope is some fan that knows this stuff can make a patch, like for ppl who knows this kind of thing can't be so difficult can it? well if I'm talking nonsense just forgive me and my bad english hehehe

There's no patch as far as I know, and I found a forum post (when I was trying to get it working myself) claiming that it's been broken since TNT1. For ages, in other words. I don't remember what forum it was, sorry.

I'm pretty pessimistic about the chances of some fan making a patch either. Because a) it's an old game b) you can play the PSX version on console or on emulator c) it doesn't have quite the fan following Final Fantasy has, at least on PC.

Well why don't you make your own forum like Qhimm and make all for people who want to mod metal gear PC, Then I could start swaing out the models from metal gear 2 PC . Anyway I think i found your problem. Graphics card problem
This might help aswell. Resolution problem. It's your graphics card is too good fr the game problem, and there are no patches, see google and you will find.

Hmmm, squeeble's links are interesting.

I would like to add that the accelerated mode does not work with my GF4 Ti4400, at least not with the drivers I'm currently using.

One more thing to help you boys this program 3D Analyze it can force certain features of graphics cards on or off, I'm not sure if this will help but its worth a shot.

**EDIT** Thanks Jari :-)

Sure. It works like this:

Code: [Select]
Word link here

EDIT: Not sure if it needs valid URLs; meaning ones with the "http://" and stuff. But just to be on the safe side, use them.

WOW thx guys, you are been very nice to help this unrelated topic, well I guess my last chance is try 3DAnalyze, thx squeeble

well this program doesn't seen to help, any chance for you to try it Jari? I just installed the game and nothing, I even cheked a lot of boxes but for what I see this program doesn't change anything that or I just don't know how to use

using 3DAnalyze in front of metal gear solid in google I found something:

http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=9632&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

some guy say that will try to do a patch but until now he had no sucess

I'll see if I have time during the weekend.

I don't have the game installed anymore, so I have to find the discs... but if I get bored enough, I might try it. :) Can't promise though, I might find something more interesting to do than hunting for the discs. :P

I even asked in Konami official forums if by any chance this game could have a PC version but nothing, some guys tried to ask for MGS3 for PC but some moderator closed the topic, I really wanted to see how MGS TS is, but looking for some videos snakes seems like a ninja and he moves like matrix movies hahahahaha

Well you could.
A: Buy a gamecube and buy twin snakes.. or.

B: Get the gamecube emulator and buy twin snakes. (but I believe you need to have a gamecube to legally aquire the iso cuz pc drives cant read the discs).

(Hope thats not considered warez talk..)

That's why you have to have a gamecube anyway to aquire the iso I'm not going to explain how it's done but you can get the iso's out of gamecube games.

Apparently....

bpumpkin: Luckily, I found an alternative solution. I found on the GameFAQ's boards that if you take your model detail and turn it down to the second notch from the left, it fixes the problem.

Have no idea what he meant by model detail... assume it's an option in MGS2, not any actual Video Card driver setting.
