RELEASE: soldier uniform mod
« on: 2007-09-06 20:24:57 »
this is a mod that replaces the main characters' outfits with the soldier 3rd class one.

the file itself
http://rapidshare.com/files/53874428/soldier_mod_mk1__char__battle_and_world_us_lgps_.zip.html

the mod currently only replaces the field, world map and battle, i will post a update on this tomorrow with the motor cycle minigame and the chocobo minigame and see if anything else needs replacing. i'll also make barret black and change the other 2 clouds that are weren't changed as they are rarely seen (wheelchair and parachute cloud, well, parachute everyone)
NOTE: as uploading the lgp files is illegal, i am putting up the extracted folders and all you have to do is create a new lgp file from them.

and, if anyone is the slightest bit interested, tomorrow is my birthday.   :-(

SILLY!?!  :-o if modding was intended to be serious and stuck completely with the story, then people would not make character replacements or weapon replacements such as playing with sephiroth or the turks!
and to answer your question, i shall merely quote my message. "the mod currently only replaces the field, world map and battle" besides, the main reason for this was because the heroes received a promotion from 'shinra grunt' (or 'MP') to 'soldier 3rd class' :P

(if anyone didn't get that, someone on qhimm made a MP outfit mod that changed the outfits to the MP one so i decided to do one where they were all members of soldier)

Not bad at all.
Very interesting idea (Hasn't been done in all my time here)
Creative and looks nice.

Now if you don't mind me saying here is how you can improve it IMO.
How about an optional helmet addition?
Also is it me or is Barett err not as black on his arms? >_>
More detail on the uniform if possible it looks nice but I think you can improve it by adding things such as (tears, missing parts (aka one arm exposed)
Also could we see the other chars I'd like to know what they look like as I don't have FF7 on this PC and my other one is being defragged.
Other than that, keep up the good work and keep modding!

He lost his other arm in a drastic "schmelting" accident and got a transplant from a dead white guy. There you go, explained.  :-D :-P

i had some viruses on my pc and i had to reinstall everything. :( so i had to begin from the beginning of the game. (also, how on earth am i meant to make tears in the uniform knives? that would involve making a bare leg IN the leg and then deleting part of the normal leg, and that would increase the file size and cause problems)
but since people seem interested in it, i'll actually finish it now. :)
(and i was checking out every mod here to get ideas for custom mods for me to make as i never wish to make a mnod that was done before, that would be lazy of me and not very creative, ain't it? )
and as it's requested, i shall put 2 different folders for each lgp data folder now, helmet, and non helmet. :-D

EDIT: i forgot to mention that kimera for some reason darkens the field, which is a factor as to why i didn't put some shots of the field. )
