Looking to start learning to edit!?
« on: 2008-06-13 05:13:06 »
Hey there
I'm looking to start learning how to edit so I have a few questions for you editors out there

-What programmes should I download to get started?
-Can someone make a detailed tutorial for people? (I will eventually if no-one else does)
-What do each of the files mean?

Thanks

Myke

Hehe dziugo. :P

To the OP, you can learn a lot just by reading these threads. Search for what you want to edit (ie. model editing, text changing) and you should find what you're looking for.

Im mostly looking to change characters and battle monsters etc!
I've looked around and most of it looks a foreign language to me!

You need to know how to do character modeling before you try to edit ffvii's character models. Seeing as how what you've read so far is a foreign language to you, I doubt you know how to edit character models. First, you need to learn that.

And none of this is easy. This isn't an Elder Scrolls game where editing stuff is easy thanks to a fantastic editing and modding tool that is included with the game. If you don't know programming language or 3d modelling, you need to learn some of that first, or fool around with current ffvii modeling programs and learn as you go along.

I'd like to learn how to use "Blender" one day... but because of it's known difficulty to use... I'll be at it for years on end  :-o

But, I'm willing to try  :-D

Good luck trying to do that stuff, you'll most certainly need it (but the best of luck, I hope you can succeed :D )
