The issue seems to have resolved itself now, but...

Over the past couple of days, a 403 error has been preventing me from getting onto these forums.  Which I find rather upsetting :-(

Specifically, I got this message:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The host is having technical difficulties. I am not sure if they have managed to solve them yet for good, so it remains to be seen how long the forums stays up.

Very, very unlikely.

Not only do the logs not hint anything of that nature, the issue itself seemed more like a fault or misconfiguration on host's part.

That, and the fact that I doubt he's any more capable of performing a real DDoS than Rubicuntcant was.

Its actually not that hard to perform a "REAL" DDoS Attack :wink: was he really THAT dumb...and I don't think you can perform a DDoS attack without the logs showing multiple proxys or IP addresses. BUT would this guy take it that far? Is he really that deranged?

EDIT: I just realized you have access to the server logs!? El Ammo does that mean your the new permanent Admin and Qhimm is officially out!?

Not really hard as in difficult technically, but hard as in requiring certain resources to perform a successful one. Case in point; Rubicant's attack only achieved a spike in traffic - teh "massive" load was not apparent in any other way.

For that matter, considering Herbie's apparent level of knowledge, I'd describe a decent DDoS fairly hard for him, even in the technical sense. :-D

Hardly. Qhimm is just busy as always, and only log I've seen is the one he asked my opinion on. ...and there was nothing out of the ordinary in it, quite the opposite, the traffic was light-ish.

Oh ok...This Hemoor guy sound's like a sad soul...and not a bright one at that. Sorry if you took any offense did not mean any you would make a great host. Matter of fact I'd "steal" you and hulkun for my own forum any day :wink:. Best troll hunter on the web. I am thinking on starting my own forum someday FF related. I don't think I will use SMF thou its a little to plain. The answer to your question you are asking yourself NO you don't have a choice :-D.
