FF7 crash @ start in XP
« on: 2009-03-17 12:47:29 »
First at all: hello and thanks for all good guides and stuff that i readed here.

Now de question. I tryed (i guess) all posibility for make my FF7 work good. No care what patch i found and installed, the result is always de same: FF7 start, i only hear the Eidos video and after it finish the screen continue black and thats is all. After it i must reboot my computer. (I can see the videos in windows btw)

My computer is like this:

Windows XP Home SP3
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Proccessor 4400+
2.3Ghz, 2Gb Ram
Graphic Card Ati Radeon 3800 Series

Just for check that my Cds isnt just bad i installed a Virtual PC with windows 98 and it work but... just very very bad (bad music, slow, all in graphics config fail...).

Well, thats is all.

PD: I tryed donwlad patch in spanish (thats is my FF7 version) from FAQ above that all spanish links are broken ^^

Thanks you.

EDIT: Well, i was looking more posts (page 7 or somehting like it) and looking for those called "ff7 help" or something likes that ^^. Finally i found a post that said "uninstall all codecs, reinstall game and K-lite codec pack wtih all codecs" and... it worked! I will continue trying it but... atleast it worked.

Now i must install new patchs (chocobo race, patch 1.02 for XP, combat arena fix, slow minigames, etc and check if it continue working haha)
