odd game crash

I am in the Shinra Building on Disc 1. When I exit the elevator on the 60th floor my game always crashes, I am running WinXP nad have done all the patches required to make it compatible with my OS, any insight for me?

Do you get the cutscene with the guard? If not then your disc is scratched and that file can't be read. If you do then you have a bad flevel file...maybe
