need help to install mods
« on: 2010-05-14 01:43:20 »
Hi I'm new here and I play FFVII really long time. I have installed several "patch", "mods", "crack ".... etc and now I'm back to the original version. I would also like to say that my English are bad, I am French of origin. I tried to install the "FFVII remix" which is installed most of the patches that exists for this game. And my game refuses to open. I'll explain below how I installed the patch and the version of my games.

I have the North American version in French for PC and I run with the iso and daemon tools lite.
I installed FF7 normally with the original installation after I tested everything and everything going well.
Then I download the patch 2.5.1 and remix the remix for the French version.
I installed ff7 remix and then I patch and I remain without success.
I can sent all the necessary files again I'm doing with regard to the PC.

Note: Getting someone could communicate in French would be his as well, otherwise I'll manage. Thank you

I don't speak French, but...

Show us what your "APP.log" file says after you try to start up the game.

I think you have corrupted your condor.lgp file or its missing but I'm not sure because I'm not using the Remix Patch.

I think I had a similar problem.  Check and see if you have a ff7input.cfg.  If not, I think it's there but it's named something else.  Look for a similar .cfg fill and try renaming it.  That might fix it for you.

the ff7input crash is only on the latest version of Aali's custom driver (0.7.7) and you are using a old version so that isn't the problem, my guess is that your condor.lgp is either missing or named badly (i am not sure since i only have the English version of the game but if your using a foreign language version they use different filenames for some of the files so you may need to rename them) just go to your "data" folder then the "minigame" folder and see whats there (if you could post a screenshot of that folder it may be even more helpfull)

ok i think i see the problem. the game is looking for condor.lgp in
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\Data\minigame\condor.lgp
but your game's isnt there. you have it in
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Old cracked Final Fantasy VII\Final Fantasy VII\Data\minigame\condor.lgp

so either correct your directory or change your registry to match the correct folder.

EDIT-
Also your new app.log (the one in the post above this one) shows that Aali's driver isnt working

No distress I have multiple copies installed, when I installed the patch and I remix preview that this has not working I added "old cracked" in the name of the file, but when I do my I make sure to test changed the name of the file each time

ok i think i understand what you ment. So you are saying that you have the game installed in
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\
but also have it installed in another folder ?
I would recommend removing all your FF7 installation's, Then reinstalling FF7 with a full install to the default directory of
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\
once that is done install Remix 2.5.1.
Then rename your fcondor.lgp to condor.lgp (and all the other files that are named differently since you are using the french version this is alot of files)
Then run FF7 and see what the app.log says.

PS-
if App.log starts with
INITIALIZE DD/D3D START
then Aali's Driver isn't installed correctly,
(the driver should start with somthing like "INFO: Auto-detected version: FF7 1.02 US English" if your using the remix patch)

PPS-
If you get an error like
ERROR: COULD NOT OPEN FILE C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\Data\sound\audio.fmt
go to the folder thats listed there and check to see if the file is there and named correctly.

Also your crack could be the reason for some of the problems so i would recommend getting rid of it and just using your CD's.

Hello, thank you everyone for taking the time to help me, I finally solved my problem.

First I uninstalled everything that had connected with FFVII and also my temporary files (cache), Reeboot my computer with my installation cd with full option and standard. Another reeboot to be sure, made this step I tested my game and everything going well. I installed the 2.5.1 remix I also download again. Here my games will work, in the folder / data / minigame / I renamed "fcondor.lgp" for "condor.lgp", then in the folder / data / cd / I had renamed cr_fr "for" cr_us "after the custom drivers did not want to board. I look at the files provided with the installation of 2.5.1 remix, after examination I executed the file "ff7config.bat" who change my "FF7Config.exe" then after a new configuration file "ff7_opengl.cfg . After all this I did a test and the video ju well, the drivers work, no visual bug, but no songs!. I Start "ff7music.exe" and configure the drivers of songs. After all this my game works well ^ ^!

The only minor default that I 'm not able to correct these texts that the games are now all in English, including menus and everything else ... But I have a sublime game =)
Getting someone has an idea how to fixed my problem of language thank you to let me know if I'm good shot ^ ^

Thank you everyone for your help, AC since 1998 that I'm playing FFVII I have the original version still on a Playstation and I ju on the PC version since 5 years and I installed a bunch of patch but nothing compared to ca! Truly beautiful work.

Good day to all thank you again!  ;)  ;D
