Another Grammar Lesson
« on: 2010-05-31 00:36:27 »
I was looking through some posts and noticed something. When people type numbers, they just type the number. For example, "I have to wait 4 hours." This is, however, incorrect. The grammatically proper way of saying this is "I have to wait four hours."

So if the number you are typing is below 10, spell out the word. This includes zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and nine. All other numbers can be used as numbers. For example, 10, 64, 9999, -131234, .000000000001, etc.

This concludes another DarkFang Grammar Lesson. See you next time! :D

Alright I'll stop. I was wondering if anyone was going to say it.

I do have a real problem when someone does it both ways in the same paragraph though. Which I do all the time. I hate me.

Isn't it under 100, not under ten?  That's how I've always thought it was o.o

If you want to spell out numbers like twenty nine, seventy seven, and fifty nine and one quarter, be my guest.

(i.e. No.  It's under ten.)
