[FF7PC] Bloodshot's HQ Motorbike mod (V2)
« on: 2010-10-16 04:54:10 »
Hey everyone, I stopped modding FF7 a while back to work on levels for Crysis and Quake, but now I've picked up modding again and decided to bring you guys a

continuation of my old project:

V2

I figure ill start off by showing some of the improvements over my old version:

Code: [Select]
Replaced old cloud model with enhanced model more akin to the artwork (modified SIAA)
Modified Cloud's bone structure to fit the new proportions of the model (no glitchy swing animations)
Cloud's hair is now animated like the low quality model was(hacked up his hair and put it on the original bones)
ShinRa Soldiers replaced with my own high quality crisis core variants.
Truck now houses Red XIII's, Barret's, Aeris', and Tifa's Battle model (correctly scaled, correct positions and animations)
Motorball is now his battle model, as seen in the boss fight (makes for some better visual continuity)
New model for Hardy Daytona

RELEASE - V2.1:

!!WARNING!!

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF TIFA before you install the field bike, it messes up her field model. Install the field bike, then after you do repack your Tifa field models back in.

A FIX WITH IMPROVED MODELS CAN BE FOUND HERE IN CASE YOURS IS MESSED UP: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20218034/Models_7z

I had fun making this, and probably the most work i put into it was the new Hardy Daytona model, made entirely with kimera.  :)

Nice. That's better than the sharp ends on the first Hardy.  ;)

Also, any news on the usage of Millenia's Buster Sword?

Nope. Unfortunately he hasn't logged on for a couple days now.

I'll probably just release it with the original buster sword (or hardedge) until i get the PM.

Yeah. I think you should go ahead and release it. Once you get the PM, you can perhaps put it as an add-on.

Maybe some don't like the model (although I can't think of anyone that would dislike it; looks awesome!)  ;D

Nope. I opened it in kimera and used some existing parts from other creatures, such as the devil's ride (i think that's what it is) for the exhaust pipes and i modified many different pieces from other models and combined them (such as the handle bars) and deleted the old stuff after making sure it was to scale.

thats pretty industrious of you! i really like it, and the enitre minibike game has finally been given the facelift it needed. Shame its only a small part of the game though. Can't wait for a release.

Wow, that's a pretty nice and handy idea.

Put those parts to good use, even though you only see that Hell Rider in only one part of the world.

UPDATE:

Final version of hardy daytona:

Inside is now hollow to make it more realistic (rather then frame being plain gray), finished the front, connected the handle bars and added a grill to the front of the frame.

Download is almost ready, i noticed some errors that need fixing before i can post (Barret has no left arm, hehe)

what do you guys think of the final model?

It's beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. It's really amazing what you can do with just colored models and no real texture work to speak of.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

bloodshot: Will you be adding more details to it or is this the final model?

The only other thing i could see myself doing is connecting the front wheelguard to the handle bars like in the concept art but other then that, not much. What you see in the picture is probably what It's going to look like for release, which is not far off by the way. All i need to do is fix Barret's left arm in the truck (which is proving to be more difficult then i thought, lot of tweaking and constant testing).

If i don't release by the end of tonight it will definitely be tomorrow.

Amazing job, Bloodshot! Definitely a much needed improvement over the original models.

I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence, but after I installed this, Tifa's right arm on her field model is now (hilariously) huge and deformed.

I noticed that now too, I suggest you don't install the field bike, it seems to fuck up tifa's field model.

I'm not sure why, but I had to repack the old tifa into the lgp after putting the bike in.

Yikes, I should've backed up my files before installing then.
Thanks for the reply, though.
