When I click on Workshop > Check for subscription nothing new shows up. I am using the original 1998 version which I installed with Tom's Installer. Any help?

Edit: jesus nevermind, I'm blind. Anyway I installed some mods and it's all set up however when I click "Launch Game" that little blue circle shows up on the cursor yet nothing happens. any help? I have set everything to the correct path.

Maybe run the converter again it usually fixes everything for me.

So I saw my problem in the FAQ but not an applicable fix for it,

My problem is whenever i try to open the 7th heaven mod program, i get the Oops "Null" installation error where the FAQ basically just sends me back to step 3. That would be amazing except for the fact that I can't set the file locations because the 7th Heaven program won't actually open to let me change any of those settings... it just gives the oops message and i can't get passed it... does anyone have any knowledge on how to fix this or am i screwed? I've already completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game, the mod programs, and when i uninstalled i literally went through every folder to make sure everything was deleted so i could get a fresh install... The problem still remains and i have no idea how to fix it. T-T

Says multi media so maybe look up the path it is giving. If you get an error message then you to try to fix it.

Rerun the game converter and choose a different sound device than the Yamaha XG Midi.

Hi, thanks for making this. I can't wait to try it out. I'm having trouble getting it running though. When I click the workshop tab and select "OpenGL driver configuration" nothing happens. No pop up box, nothing. I can still use the application and select everything else but I get nothing with OpenGL driver configuration. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to get this running?

Hey guys i finaly managed to setup FF7 Steam+7H+Reunion R03b working w graphics, but just music is left. I wont post the whole text here, it maybe the wrong thread so here:

Tried that, still crashes. Used the VirtualMIDISynth, the crappy Microsoft Wavetable Synth as well, using the General MIDI... still crashes. At least the error is something a bit different.

I'm having trouble downloading some of the mods, in particular:

The Battle Textures mod, the Field Textures mod, the Media-Movies mod, the Music and Sound mod, the Spell Textures mod and the World Textures mod.

Tried it in different times over the last week and a half, and those are the only mods that just refuse to download, no matter how long I wait or when I try.

If someone on here can verify that they can download the mods, or maybe let me know why I can't, that would be great

I'm not sure why you are not able to download them but I downloaded literally all of them through the app yesterday without an issue.

Well, after spending 5+ hours trying to get this to work, it just doesn't work for me. I have all kinds of issues.

"Access is denied"
"System was unable to find the specified registry key or value"
Unable to open OpenGL driver configuration
"NO SOUNDDEVICE SELECTED"
and more, etc...

I came to this one because people recommended it as an easy way to play an upgraded FF7 without the hassle of the usual modding process but this has been nothing but a headache. I don't want to spend any more time on this. I'm just going to download the individual mods I want and do it without 7th heaven. Thanks though.

hey, i don't have any troubleshooting or installation issues, but i just wanted to publicly thank all the people who made this mod. you folks seem really generous with your time and attention spent on solving so many things that have gone wrong when people try the mod. so, i just wanted to shout out and say that i got the package to work with my steam version over the course of two days using google, this forum, and some patience. it is a ton of fun replaying ff7 with all these updates, thanks so much for all your work in putting it all together and making it happen.

i may have spoken too soon, haha. one issue came up earlier today and now 7th heaven cannot launch the game! everything was fine for the past 2-3 days, so i'm confused as to what might have changed!

the current situation is that i can launch 7th heaven, de/activate mods, etc, normal as before. when i click to launch the game, i get the normal few seconds of loading, black screen appearing to display the game full screen, the familiar beep that i always heard just before showing the square-enix title card, then it snaps right back from black screen to the file explorer window i was just on previously.

i can still launch the game and play the unmodded version as normal through steam.

within 7th heaven, i deactivated one mod at a time and attempted to launch the game after each, with no success.

i didn't see any previous post that hit this, so i'm sorry if this is a repeat issue that has been solved and i missed the solution somewhere!

also, don't know if this is a red herring or not, but i did encounter one other issue while playing that prompted a hard restart of my laptop just before this more serious issue started happening. i was going through the mythril cave (just after chocobo-ing through the marshy area), finished chatting up the turks, and then went through the exit to the world map when the transition screen went black and stayed that way. curiously, the world map music was playiing but nothing else was responsive. i could not even ctrl+alt+del out of it. i was able to play just after this though (i never went through that exit again, just did everything up to that piont and went back out the entrance and saved on the world map there), so again, not sure if this is relevant.

So you have changed/updated your sound device. We really need the new config which tom was creating. This bug is realy nasty.

You need to change or re-add the sound device to the FF7_config.exe.

Btw. it might also appear when try to run the game on a TV with a HDMI cable.

To do this, be sure to run the Game Converter again. It will open the correct FF7Config.exe for the registry keys to be used, in which you can then set the correct sound device.

Do NOT open FF7Config.exe from the game folder. Doing so will set the wrong registry keys.

It's amazing how I read this just a few days ago, and wanted to do this once my days weren't so busy. Since then, we've already created nearly a full page of more questions (some of the same ones, too). 7H works beautifully, but not without its hiccups that only the experienced know what to do to fix. I realize now that the average joe user sometimes misses a step, for whatever reason, and causes an issue they don't know how to solve. We've had more questions pile up than I can answer, so obviously some minor fixes/changes need to be made for 7H to be a smoother setup for everyone.

I'm going to work on the forum setup now. This like your new UI proposal and Tom's FF7Config.exe can help make 7H an even better tool than it already is
