hi this is my first mod on
site and I wanted to share it.
first of all I took part in the texurda from two content creators
it's more than fair to put links to their mods:

RINOA HEARTILLY:

Ok let's start with Rinoa:



as I said above I have prso eyebrows and eyes but I have recolored them as in the art both drawn and in game that I will put lower
because rinoa eyes have never been brown or black but on gray.
then the mouth I left the remastered one but I colored it pink
but for the dance dress "which incidentally was not included in the mod above including other tex I think the 75" I left the red texture because I thought "what are you doing for the dance you don't wear lipstick?"
comunue a variant with pink lips is included.
oh well then I added the neckline to 75 I think it was missing.

I had forgotten some beta textures that crashed the game so I reloaded it correctly for the few who want to try it.

[inside I left 2 files of the textures that caused problems, they do not have to be installed and are in a separate folder.
they are right there if you wanted to see them ahaha]

well for Squall as I said on I only took the hair color but as in the movies I enlarged the eyebrows
and I took the lips from the textures of FF Dissidia of squall for all the textures.
And I made a few lashes but not all the textures you can check yourself

I also wanted to change the scar as in the movies but I don't know.

then I took the textures of the d0c000_0 file
and I updated the buckles and studs and the low edge of the jacket of the d004_1 file, editing them to make them feel better
even if before when I created it they were at x3 resolution but they crashed the game but now I'm affixed then with the file
d0c000_0 I took pieces and applied it to all the squal texure with the black dress
to be precise I mean the tex of the field_hd_new folder

I think that's all I hope you can like it and you can use them at your pleasure you can also create squall with pink hair and rionoa with rainbow hair hahaha

ok late and by myself it's 3:27 and I work very slowly but shortly:
today or rather yesterday I had read a comment "that of devina towards noon and made me think it was not bad, she realized that she was the author of the mod for the old pc version at 3 a.m. hahaha".
then after the first line of the comment by
LeonhartGR I stopped and started working on this version, it made me want to make it.
I was short this flies no? ahaha

ok I woke up at 11.40 this morning just to have lunch and then test the model and my fears were founded ...
or that the scar of what I thought was the battle pattern hasn't changed.
now I try to do tests to see if I can get it,

the forehead becomes transparent and depending on how I moved the texture was always positioned there.

ok I tested these textures with Mcindus' weapons in the original version, so it should work with Lionheart Remastered v2.0 as well

the initial menu has black bars that increase the black edges these textures reduce them rather they eliminate them but to change from 16 to 4: 3 you need reshade.

First of all well done and welcome to the community! I personally appreciate each one's work presented here since there is a huge amount of time devoted and love put into each mod!

Now, Rinoa looks a lot like the original from the first game but with the high quality model and how Square should at least have made it at first place!

Unfortunately Squall, no offence, is getting worse and worse as long as there's no way to edit the hairstyle. I personally would even prefer the original SE model's face and mouth as long as the hair would look like in the FMV model. I believe that this particular hairstyle portrays Squall's exact character and shows a unique differential characteristic for this particular model.

Enough said, well done once more and keep it up with any future potential projects!

yes I also preferred the original hair but they took squall from the third dissidies the one for ps4 sin. the squall and rinoa are those of the dissidia and not those for psx. square square is not done.
however, what do you dislike about the face? because the model of the mouth is that of the dissidia for psp that I used.
pity you can't import that model because there is a mod that wears the original psx costume on dissidia.
at most it installs only the part of the dress because it does not seem they are an improved one I took the textures of the remastered ones at higher resolution and I replaced them.
I'm still sorry for the buckle because in the beta the belts were much more defined but caused the game to crash.

yes the hair changes the character a lot.

Yea. Theres nothing much we can do about squall's model as his biggest deviation is his god damn sasuke hair.

I did a rough sort of half-assed mockup Photoshop job of what I feel could be improved.

One of the things that I don't like about the remaster is that they gave him these droopy sleepy-looking eyes, which I tried to fix on my edit to make him look more alert. People underestimate how vital his eye shape is to the look of his character.

Imo, I prefer his original mouth. I also edited his lips to make it look like the original more, but I removed the odd bright lights under the edges of his lips. I feel like your edit of his lips are unrealistic, as his lower lip is too large. I'm not good at editing lips so I tried doing what I can, but I'd use the original as a reference point if I was seriously doing a mod.

Mcindus said he'll be including his own version of Squall in his update so I'm just going to wait and see how that goes first.

Mouth and eyes really look a lot better now with that minor edit! It's amazing of the way they took care of the rest of the characters apart from the main protagonist... agh!

Those Devina-inspired updates are so, so much better. I especially like his lips, just removing the bright spots near them gets rid of the doll-like childish features. If I actually owned FF8 Remastered, I would use V2 because the yellowness of his skin seems different compared to everyone else.

Just a few questions...

Can you make a Rinoa comparison image? I'd like to see what's changed compared to the original and your edits.

Are Squall's textures ported to all his costumes?

Finally, is Squall's outfit supposed to look sort of low-res? Did you change it?

I notice there seems to be some odd zipper issue here.

Well done! The fmv2 model looks great. By removing some yellow color the skin looks a lot more natural though Squall originally looks white and pale. Is there anything that can be done for the resolution of the outfit and the griever pendant? Was it supposed to look blurry?

ok for the hinges I'm working on it but for those I kept the original texure but for the rest I used the textures of the squalll battle model which had textures with higher resolution and prti of a texure not used with buckles that I have adapted.
and yes for all versions I changed the face of all the textures it had and the pendant also has a seed-like shape.
for the pendant it is the fault of the lowest resolution that the game supports
because the beta version had larger textures but given their higher resolution they made the game crash.

in fact the game or rather I took this pendant

I cut it out and then I adapted it to the textuture then the game did the rest.
I doubt it can be fixed unless I enlarge the pendant but then it would be too large.

in the end I checked again in the game and it seems to work even if I try to review the textures
just to be sure.

Just revising the thread to point out how much those models refer to the original style of the game, except for Squall's hair of course. But SE should have picked this type of model design for a proper remaster for those 2 characters!

Not sure if I'm missing something. But i put the files in the Demaster folder (DEMASTER_EXP/textures/) I still got this weird model of squall.

I havent tried Rinoa yet but i got the same results for both SQUALL DEVINA FMV ISPIRED and SQUALL DEVINA FMV ISPIRED V2





Edit: Just got Rinoa and her battle model is fine, but for some reason i get invisible squall and the same problem with the other squall model

sorry I answer really late but I used this mod with the old method that is open the .zzz file replace and close and it worked perfectly and I don't know if it has problems with the new method. anyway I hope you have solved it at this time.

Hey ERAISERZEE! How are you doing? Something's wrong with the packs, they cause some conflict with the lionheart mod McIndus weapon pack. I tried the fmv v2 and the weapons dissapeared. Look into the Rebirth flame mod and check if you missed including any files then test both mods to see if weapons disappear after using your texture pack. Izf you fix it upload the new file versions please since I want to test your mod. Thanks! :mrgreen:

edit: I received this reply on McIndus Discord. You need to upscale the resolution somehow and make it exactly like in the McIndus rebirth flame mod. Hope that helped!

long ago in 2019/20 i was doing a backport for the old version of ff8 i could see if i can make do

actually more than a backport I have redone them from scratch and like squall in this version it has some new belt straps and a new pendant. sorry for shiva because tomberry doesn't make him do the eye opening animation
