I'm having difficulty installing the 1.16 Unified mod (WIN 11). At about 10% as it's unpacking .ogg sound files it get's stuck and hangs there for hours. It doesn't indicate the the process has stopped responding in Task Manager. At first I had it on my larger hard drive and installing to one of my SSDs, so I thought perhaps it wants to just install to the same disk, so I moved the installer to the SSD but I'm seeing the same behaviour. It looks like it's a different file every time but it gets to about the same point in the unpacking process before hanging. Any potential thoughts as for what I can do to troubleshoot?

EDIT: Attempting to unpack on a separate system. It's getting a bit further along but seeing the same thing where it just hangs and gives up. I am using the 7th Rocks mirror, as the MEGA link is requiring me to sign up to a sub to download the data.

Hello Satsuki, first of all I want to apologize for my English. I only learned it from games. Your AIO pack is great. Thank you for that. And since you seem to be good at language packs, I would like to ask you. Is it possible to somehow incorporate the Czech pack? There is a complete one on the internet from a translation group. It is an installer that modifies the exe. Please advise how I could get it working.

Here is the link to that installer. https://www.rk-translations.cz/Data/download/ff7/FF7cz_v1.2.2.zip
Thank you

Thank you
I just looked at this and it wont be easy to adapt to my pack, this patch contains :
-Jenova and ending video low resolution (so by using it you'll loose lots of quality VS my pack's content)
-Modified's exe (need to find witch one was moded and adapt all hext patch to this exe)
-Modified's in game textures (low resolution so you won't be abel to use any HD textures from my pack or it'll overide the translated textures)
-Modified fields (witch must be adapted to the 60fps logic and checked for uncomptabilitys)

So long story short, if this translation patch is one day upscaled properly, i may be able to add it to the pack, but not in it's current low resolution state, and unfortunatly with a baby and a consuming time job, i have about no free time ATM

Thank You for looking on it. I understand your situation. Maybe in future someone update that translation to Hd. That group is not as active, as it used to be. Just one more quwstion, it is possible to inconperate just ttext? Like Menus and story? I am able to play it in english but playing in native text is more pleasant.

@satsuki: with the FF7 PS1 Decomp in active development and nearing completion:

https://github.com/Xeeynamo/ff7-decomp

I was wondering if it would be feasible for you to get in touch with the N64Recomp or HM64 devs and discuss possible ways to convert SYW into a series or mods for the eventual native PC port. It would be awesome to be she to enjoy your magnificent work without being tied to an online storefront and a crappy, ancient port.

Decompilation does not mean it'll work on computer natively OOB, having a source code is great, but then you must modify it and compile it in a way so it can run on a computer.
Also most texture mods need to have an option to replace texture ingame on the fly, some patch and gameplay mod are dependant to memory adress witch won't be the same or event won't work at all with this version...

So long story short, ATM playing a ps1 original FF7 on computer is far from complete, and once it will, it will be moddable but most mods must be adapted or even recreated

It doesn’t seem close to completion at all.
It’s much more recent than the SotN decomp (also by Xeeynamo), and even that one is still very far from finished.
Plus, even after finishing a decomp, porting the game to another platform requires significant additional effort.
So, it’s way too early to discuss mods for a potential port that could be years away — if it ever gets released.

Hello everyone, I just discovered something that could fix some text errors related to the titles and text in the textures of the Spanish minigames. I also discovered that this would also fix it for other languages besides English, where minigame textures with text like "CHOCOBO RACES" were missing some letters when running the .iro files of the SYW Unified Minigames Textures mod in Spanish mode. With 7th Heaven, some letters in the minigames disappeared because the text margins used by the English FF7 version are different from those used in Spanish and other languages. However, I discovered that another .iro mod fixes these hidden letters in the minigame textures. This mod, called Spanish Retranslation V2.iro, belongs to the Retraduccion XT website. When this mod is activated along with the SYW Minigames Textures .iro, it manages to fix the hidden letters in the minigames, and when used with 7th Heaven:
https://traduccionesxt.blogspot.com/2024/02/retraduccion-ffvii-version-pc-version.html

This Spanish mod is the only one outside of English mods that fixes the text margin issues and hidden letters in minigames. This Spanish .iro file correctly repairs the missing letters in the textures of Spanish, French, and German minigames. The Spanish, French, and German versions use the same text margin style and spacing, except for the English FF7, which uses a different proprietary margin style. The other languages, besides English, use the same text margin style. This .iro file, called Spanish Retranslation V2.iro from the Retraduccion XT project, activated with the Remaster HD option and combined with the Spanish SYW Unified UI and SYW Minigames Textures .iro files, fixes the missing letters in the textures of SYW minigames in 7th Heaven.

It also works with the SYW Minigames Textures.iro file in languages other than Spanish, allowing all visible letters to be seen in the minigame textures. This is thanks to having the Spanish Retranslation V2 .iro file and the SYW Minigames Textures mod activated simultaneously. It also works with minigame textures in French, Spanish, and German, because the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro mod from the Retraduccion XT project has some code that corrects the text margins in languages other than English. So, thanks to the programming code of this Spanish Retranslation V2.iro, the texture errors in the .iro file of SYW Minigames Textures from 7th Heaven could be corrected. SYW Minigames Textures.iro alone doesn't fix this, hiding some letters in languages other than English. This would solve the text errors for a large number of 7th Heaven users, thanks to the programming code contained in this mod, Spanish Retranslation V2.iro. Mysteriously, it also works for French, German, and Spanish minigame textures. I don't know what it is about Spanish Retranslation V2.iro, but when combined with SYW Minigames Textures.iro, it corrects the hidden letters in minigames and eliminates any text errors, even when using the English FF7.exe that 7th Heaven uses. This could be a universal solution for many users with SYW mods in 7th Heaven.

- Spanish Retranslation V2.iro with SYW Minigames Textures.iro at the same time (7th Heaven):

- Only the SYW Minigames Textures.iro without the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro mod (7th Heaven):

My question is, if this is the case, could the correct text margins and textures of the minigames, with all the letters visible from the minigame textures of the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro file from the Retraduccion XT project, be integrated into the .iro file of SYW Minigames Textures.iro from 7th Heaven?

This would correct what the older SYW .iro files couldn't fix on their own without having to use Spanish Retranslation V2.iro.
This could be a significant solution for all 7th Heaven users, since the Spanish Retranslation V2 mod also retranslates the entire story and menus, which some users might not want translated. Spanish Retranslation V2.iro, when it translates and fixes the minigames, also translates the entire story and menus of the game, without offering the option to translate only the minigames and not the whole game.
I would like to be able to transfer just the texture corrections for the minigames from Spanish Retranslation V2 to the .iro file. I need the corrected minigame textures from the SYW Minigames Textures .iro file, which is what I'd like to request. This seems to be located within the Retraduccion XT, Remaster HD, and HEXT folders inside the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro file.

What I'm trying to ask is if it's possible to transfer only the minigame textures and margin corrections from the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro mod (part of Retraduccion XT) to the SYW Minigames Textures .iro file. This would correct what the SYW Minigames Textures .iro file couldn't do correctly, and would solve the texture and text margin issues in other languages in 7th Heaven.

Is it possible to make this correction and integrate it into the SYW Minigames Textures .iro file, knowing that the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro file already has the solution integrated?

I hope I've contributed something important, and thanks for everything.

Sure, absolutely. Might be worth getting on the Tsunamods and Qhimm discord servers and maybe ask around and point to this excellent post as a resource.

For starters, 7th heaven has IRO TOOLS built in that will allow you to unpack and look through all the files that make up individual mods that are compressed into iros. I'd target the specific changes you want to isolate  by going through those directories and files and playing around with moving things to a new mod you build for yourself. As to whether the original developer will take this on in the immediate future, I think it's probably not likely.

I've also discovered that in the Fort Condor battle menu, the Spanish texts for "ATAQUE" and "ALCANCE" appear cut off. However, with the SYW Minigames Textures.iro file in French mode on 7th Heaven, the texts "ATTAQUE" and "PORTÉE" display correctly in French, and the French seems to use the same textures as the Spanish version. Therefore, it should also display correctly in the Spanish minigame texture mode.
Perhaps the solution would be to use the French textures as a base and add the Spanish text to them?

- SYW Minigames Textures.iro in French mode displays the texts correctly when it comes to the same texture and same text margin as in Spanish:

- SYW Minigames Textures.iro in Spanish mode the texts for "ATAQUE and "ALCANCE" appear cut off.
I think that if the same French texture were used but with Spanish text written on it, perhaps this could be resolved:

It's a shame we can't use 7th Heaven mods like the Enhanced Stock UI or Spanish Retranslation V2.iro (Retraduccion XT) in the SYW Unified Launcher, and that's why I'd like to see if it's possible to port the functionality of the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro file to the SYW Minigames Texture .iro file to fix it in 7th Heaven. The Spanish Retranslation V2.iro mod also integrates the Enhanced Stock UI translated into Spanish, so we could have a starting point for encoding the improved menu texture that's already in Spanish.

- Spanish Retranslation V2.iro (Retraduccion XT mod) also with Enhanced Stock UI and Battle Menus translated into Spanish:

I would adapt everything but with the same original names as the Vanilla UI of FF7 and change the name VIT to PG, and everything with the same original names as in the SYW Unified UI but in the Enhanced Stock UI.

I hope that one day the Enhanced Stock UI could be added to the SYW Unified Launcher, adapted to any language, in addition to the classic Aavock UI.
If there are any questions about the code, the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro mod (XT Retranslation) could be a good starting point for adapting it to other languages, as could the SYW Unified UI and Aavock UI.
That would be great, but perhaps the Spanish Retranslation V2.iro could be a good starting point, knowing that it's already in Spanish and not English. It also has HEXT files that translate ff7.exe, so it would be a good starting point, although that wouldn't be necessary with the SYW Unified Launcher, but implementing the Enhanced Stock UI in it would be fantastic.

And I think this is all that's missing to completely fix FF7 if you want to use SYW textures with the 7th Heaven mods.

I hope I've contributed some great ideas and that this will finally make FF7 perfect as it should have been, while preserving its originality and original names.
