Direct3D hardware acceleration problems

I'm having problems choosing direct3d hardware aceleration. Every time I choose this option the games crashes at start.. I can only play with software rendering and the graphics sucks that way... Please help me i have a GeForce Fx 5600 PIII 2.8Ghz and my FF7 is with 1.2 patch, geforce fix and Reunion patch..

Do you have the Nvidia box checked in the configuration?

Do they movies play ok? or do you get a black screen with or without sound when you start the game?

Does it crash with no patches installed?

Yes, i have the nvidia box checked.. the movies play ok too.. i dont get black screen neither no sound.. it doesnt crashes if i play with patch 1.4 without reunion.. but it crashed while playing using that patch.. that's why i'm begging for help :P

Uninstall 1.4


Install 1.2.

1.4 is very problematic and actually is capable of less than 1.2.

This will solve your problems, most likely.

I'm currently using Leadtek Geforce 6200 128MB..

Anyone tried the lasted nvidia drivers?? They just released version 78.01

My game keeps crashing randomly... every now and then.. maybe its becase i have windows media player in the background?? hehe    8)

Gonna try the drivers and update u guys...
