How do you feel about...

1.Square Enix replacing Square Soft? Personally, i hate it.

2.Editing FFVII? I dont mind it. But i will NEVER enjoy FFVII if it is not in its original state.

3.Square Enix's New Games ( FFX+)? I think after FFIX they really killed the BEST game type ever. Turn Based. Screw that real-time crap. It kills Final Fantasy. And their game plots are rubbish, i mean, who wants to help Schoopufs, or some cocky Cross dressing poof who thinks hes "a real man" ( sorry mods for my language ).

And

4.FFVII on PS3? Square Enix think it could happen. i think it could too, but knowing the team at Square Enix, there will be too much story line changes to make it Fun and Reminiscible. Id apreciate more itracate Battle systems, Effects and MUI effects, New Materia system, with co-inciding effects, such as ( Fire 2 + Water 1 = Steam (60:40 Damage:Blind) ) And if we added Wind we could get the spell to Use Water 1 after Steam
(Steam, Evaporate into Wind ( clouds ) = Rain.

So How do you feel?

Errr.... FFX was turn based.

What you said about magic in "4." interests me. I dislike everything else you posted mainly because I find 3 offensive.

Yeah I really enjoyed FFX, and FFXII, I loved the change of pace from previous games, if you want it to stay the same then it would be like nintendo, where all they do is repackage there old games from the 1980's.
And if you really want the turn based, well you've got 9 games to choose from, not to mention the billions of other RPG's out there.

Yes, we'll just have Square absorb Enix and it can vanish into obscurity. So long, Dragon Quest.

2.Editing FFVII? I dont mind it. But i will NEVER enjoy FFVII if it is not in its original state.
Lack of creativity. Change is, of course, horrible.

FFX was turn based, had a rather good main plotline (unless, of course, you like to focus on the side stuff and not on the main plot. After all, what's the main story got to do with it?) Have you actually tried the game, or are you complaining about something you've just heard things about? I can't say I'm fond of an MMORPG version, but have you actually given FFXII a shot, or just decided it would be horrible because it's not turn based? I thought it would be pretty bad, but I've given it a shot, and I rather like it.

Never really was all that into FFVII, nor do I have a PS3, so it doesn't affect me too much. Not that it was a bad game, I'm just not into this whole fanboyism that surrounds it.

Where those two sarcasm? Coz enix absorbed square, and there was a dragon quest 8 i think, and the second one doesn't really make any sense.

Yes.

Given that I was unaware that it had gone that way, it had made sense. I'd thought it was the other way around. Apparently from this person's point of view, a good game company and another good game company joining forces makes a crappy game company. Or perhaps he just doesn't like the name...

Unless your an emo...
I've never completely understood what an "emo" is. Seems to me it's what goth used to be, just renamed for a new generation of pathetic.

Anyone who, like me, misses the controllable airships on the PS2 games will like the news that they'll be back for XIII. :)

Now why are they from middle class families, and what has determined that?  I'm sure rich teens whine, as one may assume they are spoiled or have been spoon fed.  Of course I'm sure poor children whine too, as theres may be more justified.  :-D

Hmmm... something doesn't add up.  :-D  Interesting topic though, I do like the turn based RPG though.  Now that the Final Fantasy series has switched over, it just feels like any other RPG out there.  The characters need to have their gender identity back.  The men look too feminine.  That's just my opinion of course.  The only fact is that FFXI sucked.

hey, sorry if i offended, was a bad week. try look at my opinions as if they were inquisitive, rather than angry and one sided lol.

for me not liking FFX+ its because these games tend to be more female orientated, not bieng sexist or anything.

Any other RPG...? Perhaps, but for ten years ago we could say the same thing about turnbased RPGs. Agree with the gender identity. FFXI didn't suck. Thats your oppionion as well.

I like new challenges. I've played plenty of turnbased RPGs before. I like the way FF is going, if they manage to stay keep the stories top notch.

It would be über cool if they made XIII more action oriented. Like push X and cut. Not push X and bring up a menu.

I love editing FFVII. Not considering graphic but difficulty. It was way too easy for my taste. You don't really have to try, if you're not a 1st time RPG/Final Fantasy player.

I don't care 'bout that Square Soft --> Square Enix.

I reckon the best turned based RPG out there would have to be Grandia.

The first one was awesome on PS1 and the story was solid, the second onw however wasn't so great, but the 3Rd game on PS2 is pretty damn good.
But it's in Grandias battle system where it's greatness lies, it's still turn based, but it allows allot more flexibility, I can't really be bothered to explain it though lol.

We could say the same about turn based RPGs, but I wouldn't.  I've always felt that the Final Fantasy series did a much better job than the impersonators out there.  The spells and the way you could counteract them always made for interesting strategy.  I feel that Square's Final Fantasy and Enix's Dragon Quest series always were ahead of the competition when it came to gameplay.

I was just joking, using the emoticon to convey that.  I've mentioned several times on these boards my deep disappointment in that game.  I believe your statement would be your own "oppionion" as well.   :-P

Of course they are... I just can't stand forum nerds stating their opinions as facts. I'm not saying u are one of those lol, so don't interpret it that way.  :-D

But still I'm optimistic on how FF is evolving. We have plenty of turnbased FFs already, and developers always want to create something new.

I thought XII could've used more story, to be honest.  It was straightforward, to the point, and out of there.  Vayne wasn't that great of a villain... more like a watered down version of kefka in how he rose to power.  Also final fantasy has always dealt with a crisis toward the planet that you miraculously save it from (or didn't really save it from in VI and VII).  I honestly beat the game and said "that's it?!"  Of course, I've always played the games for the story.  The battle system was ok beside the fact that it was pretty much a rip off of Summoner it seemed.  I liked the revival of the 12 holy stone entities and how they were called espers as well as a lot of other nostalgic final fantasy classics... but it almost seemed like SquareEnix was trying to implement extra references to make up for the lack of traditional final fantasy gameplay and plot twists.  I'll admit I didn't really care for IX; however, aside from X-2 and XI, I've liked the games the way they are... why such a drastic change?  ...But that's my rant as far as XII goes.

As far as the ideas for updating the battle system and what-not for a PS3 release of VII, I think that there will always be great ideas to meet the gaming needs of individuals; however, meeting the needs of the public majority is one hell of a challenge.  You not only have to make a battle system that people of most any age could understand (making the game more marketable), but you have to please those who require some thinking and strategy when assorting their in-game items, spells, summons, etc.  I thought VII did a wonderful job with this.  The materia system was easy to understand.  It took a little thinking to put together some of the combos that were kickass.  The story was an awesome one and arguably the best one to date.  I don't think they'd change it too much.  If they did, it would be to more coincide with AC or CC.  Otherwise, you might see additions that the developers wanted to address with the original, but the technology and time were just not available to do so.  The only things I ask they keep for a remake of VII would be 1) the music 2) the characters 3) the same basic story 4) a similar battle system.  Implementing XII's (or a similar) battle system in a remake of VII would totally kill it for me.  I've not liked pre-ordained battles since the days of ChronoTrigger; and I will continue to not like knowing where all the enemies are.  If I wanted to play a game where the enemies were in a preordained location/path, I'd play Metal Gear Solid and screw around with the genome/russian soldiers.

As for me I could never enjoy FFVII IF its in its original state^^(course I could, but Sephiroth is the BEST VILLIAN EVER so a game containing him MUST be harder)
I appreciate all these nice patches, including HiRes, Mp3, Chocobo, SephirothPatch, LimitBreak Patch and the best thing ever is Hojo+Hex Editing to create all the hard enemies Ive always wanted.
I think Final Fantasy 1 to 10 were all really really good(played all parts, including Tactics, Tactics Advance, Kingdom Hearts 1&2(though they SUCK but Sephy was worth buying and playing it :-D^^), Mystic Quest, Crystal Chronicles, Saga 1-3, FF Adventure and even Ehrgeiz) but X-2 sucked completely, it only tells Charlies Angel stories and has nothing to do with part X. Final Fantasy XI is no FF for me, its more like CON and CRTA. Final Fantasy XII however, was a real good RPG again. The story is fascinating and the characters are all nice. Only the battle system is not the best but I must admit that I thought it would be worse, so it suprised me positively :-). Dirge of Cerberus is by far the best Action game, just because its Final Fantasy and the story isnt that lame as in part X-2. Advent Children is the best Video in the World and Final Fantasy VII WILL STAY "THE BEST RPG EVER"(mostly because of Sephiroth and Aerith).
The only rival in terms of the title: Best RPG evers gonna come out next year: Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII. In my opinion the story is really good, the graphic AMAZING(check the trailers at youtube or at cetraconnection)and Sephiroth will shine again  But since Crisis Core is also a Final Fantasy VII game I dont see a rivalry between them its one whole story(the best ever told).
With that I end my comment and wish you the best hours with Crisis Core
