Graphics-speed problems with FF7 PC
« on: 2009-03-28 21:00:03 »
Hello again! Well i finally can play my FF7 PC version but i have a prob... A really prob and i dont have any idea what can i do with it.

After patch game and more i can play, good. But the game sometimes it go REALLY FAST. Like 5x or 6x. I could think that it is normal because new machines but... other times it go REALLY SLOW (-5x -6x) and, like b4, it is really unplayable but it isnt normal.

Well, resuming.... When i play the game it sometimes go FAST, othertimes SLOW, the minor times normal and generally it hace few acelerates for 1 sec (generally when the background move). I was thinking that it was because patchs but i tryed it in a clean FF7 and is exactly same.

My PC is like this:

Windows XP Home SP3
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Proccessor 4400+
2.3Ghz, 2Gb Ram
Graphic Card Ati Radeon 3800 Series

Thanks.

Set CPU core affinity of ff7.exe to only one core. This can be done by Alt+Tabbing out of the game and bringing up the Task Manager. There you'll see several processes running, and one of them will be ff7.exe. Right click it and go to it's properties, and there you can select which core you want to use.

Thanks for the help, i dont knew it. But i guess that it doesnt work. I changed it, ok. But the speed is like when i opened the game b4 change it. And if i close the game and open it again i must change it again. So i guess that it really isnt changing.

Any chance of do it b4 turn it on?
thanks ^^
