FF7 music cuts out
« on: 2009-07-14 20:26:53 »
This is either the original midi or with FF7MUSIC. I have the 1.02 patch installed, custom driver to run at 800x600, NPC mode and some weapon/cloud battle mods.

At first it played fine testing it to the boss, then when i played for real the music kept cutting out after the 2nd random encounter everytime on the bridge. Thought it was FF7music so removed it and used the midis and same thing happened. Reintalled and it seemed to have fixed it but now it cuts off after the train to the 2nd reactor or the music won't even start when i load my save from after the hideout. Even with a clean install with copying only the save and no FF7music at all it happens though it seems to differ exactly where it will happen, only by which screen or battle it will cut the music out in.

Is there any reason why i could be happening? Thanks.

Im on vista btw and the music mostly only cuts out after a battle if not then changing scene and nothing to do with fmvs. Tried Creative ALchemy but FF7 doesn't launch with it.
Atm when i load my save the music will cut out after the 2nd random battle everytime, either victory music doesn't play or it with cut once im back on the field.

Sounds more like an audio driver problem than something FF7 is doing.

Might I suggest updating your audio driver or rolling it back to a previous version.  You could also try to run FF7 in WinXP compatibility mode.

If that fails, perhaps you would like to experience the awesomeness that is Windows 7.

Well the other day i switched some of the options under midi and it gave me no trouble, but then so did the old options for a day. I'll try it out again when i have time but hopefully its all good. I did try compatiblty mode and i do have XP on this laptop too but i've kinda grown to actually like Vista now. Not going to Windows 7 till its out and even then i'll prob wait until i get a new desktop/laptop. Can't actually remember if i ever updated my audio drivers since having a clean install though thanks.
