So I happened to find my first post ever. Asking for help. Before Aali's custom driver, before I had a decent computer. It seems like a different time altogether.

Recount memories gone by. How much has this place changed (or have you personally changed) since you joined?

Hmm.....I wasnt really a noob, i'd done loads of research before i posted on here :P

I remember back in 06 when i joined, there was something good and new on here everyday :)

Then the Pcreator came out, that was good :)

...Then everyone started model importing, destroying some good models too :(

I liked it when Koral was here, and she(?) was cracking all those formats. Good times :)

I'm still a noob.  I wouldn't truly be me if I weren't :-D
I'm on the "less nooby" side of the spectrum, though.

Next to "new topic" in the corner, there is a button that reads "post new poll".  I'm guessing that is it ;)

EDIT: It seems to be exclusive to the Completely Unrelated section.

I lurked for about a year before my first post in '07 I think.  I think I stumbled on these forums about the same time Squeeble had figured out how to rip models.

Like Ultima Espio said, back then there always seemed to be something new discovered and the threads always seemed informative.  James Pond was my hero, being a DlCK to anyone who broke the rules or tried to start a flame war... good times.

I don't remember "o plz halp i caint understdan dis@!@!!" threads.   Basically, you only posted if you had something to contribute.  And that was after you did ample searching for previous topics on it.

It's only been a few short years but this place has changed.

The first time i went to these forums I searched "final fantasy 7 mods" and i stumbled at qhimm.com.. When I came here I think the greatest mod that was done were the NPC RP mod. And I wonder who started those "problem" threads as obesebear said. I remember looking at every page of the thread and everything I see is informative. Good Times. :)

The forums really have changed yeah. There didn't really be as much regular members as nowadays. Back then it was only n00bs asking for how to install the high resolution pack or something.

All the n00bs now just wanna know about model importing, where they can get models and stuff. Seriously, its sooooo annoying.

LOL, I love how this is a response in that thread. Isn't that exactly what people are saying in this thread about now compared to back then?
Is this a perpetual myth of "back when I was your age, the world was a better place"?
But I digress. Thanks for sharing your noob experience Ice_Cold :)

My first thread  ;D
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8094.0
Based on my Zack mod that I have yet to finish. Actually I have to revisit the project, I got the text changes all done and on a disk. Just have to do some model work/switching/animation. More like a nightmare to me.

And posts after that are my epic fails at trying to beat alittle sense into Dark Angels head about mod suggestions. So on so forth till I got to this point. So my only contribution so far has been my youtube video. So I'd say, I'm still noob.

I think back then it was simply a ton of questions on how to fix all the tons of different crashes that happen, but even then it was demanded that you type proficiently as evidenced by  Ice Cold's post.

Nar
L. Spiro is cool and one hell of a drawer so it don't matter
It was Jari that was one hell of a flamer/put downer, if grammar wasn't up to his standards. He even made me not want to post any more, for a-little while anyway

Yeah, Jari intimidated me as well when I first came here.  But I kind of adjusted.
