That's the thing, when two different people do the job. If anyone can tell me, what I need to slice the backgrounds. I will make it. A tutorial were also be nice. ;D For the FF Universe 8-)We are 3 right now in this project, shampignon importing the backgrounds and jmp and I making the scenes. Bear in mind that we have a life outside forums and you need to be patient but everyone is wellcome to contribute to the project. If you feel that you can help importing fields, just take the pictures from here but I suggest to speak with shampignon as he is doing the imports.
I can also give u a mirror space for the downloads.

Yours is theoretically more realistic, but its also a lot rougher, the lack of lighting makes the area look much flatter than the other render.
The texture has more detail, but it has little to no contrast because fo the lighting, its just small details everywhere, there aren't areas that sink in or extrude more than others, which would be more natural for this kind of cave, in short, the current texture is too uniform.
It is quite different from the original games too, but personally, I don't think the original games textures are all that great either, but we'll ignore that because the game is 20 years old, and we haven't seen the high resolution renders.
The fact that its all very much the same colour is also an issue here, the only thing having any influence on the tones is the lighting, and it doesn't seem to be doing much in this particular environment.
The water that runs down, you've made it a lot smoother and look more worn away, which I think adds more realism overall.
The texture resolution is a bit odd looking, especially at the bottom left of the image, where the walls of the cave are at a hard angle, your texture looks flat and stretched, I'm guessing this is because the wall itself is just flat, and not tessellated, you're just relying on bump or normal maps to do the depth for you.
The centerpiece rises up in a way that in itself isn't unnatural, but again its stretched and looks too flat on its edges, such as the top and the sides.
The texture here is still too 'sharp'.
This area has water erosion, suggesting that there was once a fair bit of water in here, and it wore away the cenrepiece over time, smoothing it out before creating a sort of 'rim' at the bottom.
The rim should be very smooth, as shout the areas close to it.
One final point would be that the lighting, the rock has no material, just a texture, its far too shiny for what it would be, it has no real sense of roughness, its just smooth, eventhough the rock itself doesn't look particularly smooth elsewhere.

I understand what you mean, however for windows, inside I can not do what I want, it is a walkmesh, more lights are in the layers and does not allow to add elements, unfortunately. The only place where I could add would be between the buildings and it would serve no purpose because in the background, they will be invisible, and in front, the hollow part of the walkmesh, add details will be difficult. For the grain, I agree on the flags they are a little too thick, however the wall we can see the details of the foreground later I do not perceive :) And slatted have been thought for them big feet of the original 3D models haha

I've been working on other personnal projects this week so I didn't work much on slicing. I've tested the zz's maps and they are good, good job to Sl1982. I've just seen a little default on zz1, the light effect is cut by a layer, so we have a stairway effect. I decreased the intensity of the light so that it does not reach the edge of this layer. I also changed the order of two layers for a softer effect. I think it's better now :

Said that, wow.... More wonderful creations that are really giving us all hope that one day we will play the game with update graphics that are both new and at the same time quite faithful to the original art! We couldn't really ask for more.
Square Enix should have hired Dan (Reunion), UpRisen, Kaldarasha, you, jmp434 and a few others for the visual upgrade and a few more (including Tsunamods for professional Voice Over coordination) to just revamp the game. With your pooled talent we would have improved a game that only needed that very kind of improvements you are sharing with the community for free.

These really look great! I was curious if you guys could do a tutorial for modeling these. You guys knock these out so quickly, I'm curious what tools you're using and how they compare to mine. I'm specializing in Environment Art, particularly in Procedural modeling, so I'm curious what your process is, and how these scenes compare to one made for Unreal (you're using Sketchup right?). Currently I blockout scenes in UE4 with BSP's, and model based on the blockouts in either Maya or Houdini, generally everything is modular. That looks great.I'm using SketchUp for the rooms and the buildings and for caves and terrains 3ds max, all rendered with vray next. I'm using the license from a friend ho works in an office xD. Need to practice and watch lots of YouTube xD and try to find good plugins (one of the most important things in SketchUp, plugins will make your life easy). Photoshop for the post-production.
Which 3D Software do u use to create the rooms? And which render for the light effects?

oh, sorry I wanted to say the mod folder. You need to set up a mod folder path first, create a folder called field and then place the field folders inside , this is how I have mine:It works perfectly! It's wonderful :-D

It will work, but it needs to be loaded above the others. Priority is given from top to bottom in the Active Mods tab.I mean if you have the fields in aalis driver mod folder and you have another field model activated in 7th heaven. I suppose it will load the 7th heaven one... :-)
The problem with the ai upscale is that you loose all the detail. Check the signs next to the reactor gate, you can´t even read "NORTH GATE". I don´t see any issue with the aliasing to be honest, only few places but nothing that photoshop and the smoothing tool can solve xD
Absolutely my thoughts. The details with the written text is something that I noticed first at viewing the picture of satsuki. I did not notice any of the anti aliasing problems. Better a readable text, than an anti aliasing problems solved. Just my two cents. hehe :D
...No one should have an issue with it as is anyway because no one is going to be playing the game at a resolution fully capable of displaying a 4096x4096 image for it to be that apparent.. And if they were, at that point it's more than good enough that the backgrounds have just been remade at all in a higher resolution than a portion of a 512 pixel height image in a 240 pixel view port.

I mean if you have the fields in aalis driver mod folder and you have another field model activated in 7th heaven. I suppose it will load the 7th heaven one... :-)As we just figured out via you and TrueOdin on the Discord, 7H always wins. If we want to have your fields take top priority, then fall back to something else (e.g. satsuki's upscales), we'll need to package yours as an IRO and load it ahead of any others.
Or just unpack Satsuki's Iro file and merge all with Final Fantasy VII HD Field Scenes Database pack into "D:\Games\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\mods\Textures\field" (or into whatever path you have installed the game). Btw md1_1 in not released yet i think.Well, like I said, I've already created a "Project Edge" IRO that's completely independent of satsuki or any other pack. The biggest trouble with your suggestion is that it locks the user in, but there are some out there who (for whatever reason) prefer Remako, and maybe some who even like some of the earlier projects. No, I didn't know that. I will download it. But i don't use 7TH FH personally. I use it just for testing purposes. I modded my entire game through the files itself, packed it and fine. If I reinstall my system i have just to extract the files and i am ready to play. ;) 8)

In the forum, i've read that some others guys are working on scenes too ! i don't want to seem impatient, but do you have a percentage of finishing work ? Using 7th Heaven Mod Manager 2.0 and looks like the Team Avalanche field textures from Miscellaneous aren't completely up to date for me either. Jusete's nmkin_1, elevtr, as well as nmking_2 from this thread don't seem to be loading for me, and I have it at the very top of the load order. Most everything else that's in this thread seems to be intact and present. Anyway that it's possible my iro isn't updating?
Apart from that, holy damn Jusete, your work in absolutely incredible, as is everything else I have seen from Team Avalanche. You all have done such an incredible job. Modding FFVII for the first time ever right now, and it has been so magical getting to see this game I love so much with a fresh coat of paint. Keep up the great work!

Jusete doesn't have release versions/dates, so I can't accurately put information in the release notes section of 7H when a new field is added. The best I could do is list them, adding the new field to the list each time, but I don't think the average user is going to know how to come to this thread and check for anything newer.
And I will be honest...I've been working on Qhimm Catalog for many years, and it's taken its toll on me. I am exhausted trying to keep up with ongoing projects (there are many) and keeping them all constantly updated. It's not a simple matter of downloading, dropping them in, uploading and calling it a day. It takes a lot more work/time for just a single mod, let alone dozens of ongoings.
I really want the Qhimm Catalog and Mods of the Round to merge into a single database that the mod authors can access and update on their own. That way I could spend more time on testing proper load orders and writing compilation guides for people to safely load and play.

That is a problem. As a developer u should provide a platform or a possibility to ensure, the modder themselves could easily add their stuff. Have u written an manual for the modders to create their own IRO/Mods packets? It is not your thing to collect all the mods/changes from different threads/sites and then adding them to an existing or not existing IRO File. That is the thing of the modders (normally). U provide just the program! U are Windows or Linux. U don't make pictures, movies, personal data etc!The user does!
The most modders provide their creations as lgp files or as direct files. I like the IRO Files for the structure. U can easily see, which files are for what. Each thing (model) has his own folder. So, if i want to change the Cloud model, i look into the folder with the name "cloud..." and copy these files.
For comparison:
If I download the packets from for example ninostyle i can't say, which file does what. I see only hundreds of files and doesn't know what is for what. A great issue if u are looking for a single character model. That is of course a great deal for the modder, but not for the user.
Maybe you all find a solution for this :)
The idea of having a freely accessible database for modders to upload/update is in the works. It will be happening hopefully this year :)
As far as I know, the [4x Upscale] project edge package is a downscaled version of the original. He shrank the original field scenes to 1K resolution, because some user had problems with the higher resolution ones. The original scenes are mostly in 2K+. I don't know, if the [4x Upscale] project edge contains ALL of the field scenes or just the field scenes from jusete. Don't know.
The FFVII HD FIELD SCENES package are the unmodified original scenes from all modders so far, not just from the user jusete.
So, in conclusion, u don't need the team avalanche field scene packet, nor the [4x Upscale] project edge packet or the normal project edge packet, when u use the FFVII HD FIELD SCENES package. It's all in this single package in 2K+.

I have no idea of how many fields there are in total, but I'm interested in the completeness of this.There are 729 fields, of which between Jusete, faulked, jmp434, and others, of which 85 have been remodeled and made available for inclusion.
Do you know if you can widen this walkway? If you use non-chibi models (since the people playing this mod are likely going to be doing so anyway), then it looks like Cloud is floating in the air.
Great job! How are you dealing with slicing the 'semi transparent layers, e.g. Where the game uses additive or subtractive blending? Are these included in the sliced output also or it is just ignored? Same with param and state layers? Are they included too? I may have something that may be able to help identify and seperate later if you're interestedI did a quick test and everything was working fine. Shampignon did an amazing work importing them xD

Aerith House and sewers are not done by me so you won't find them in this package. You can go to the first page on this thread and check out which ones are done by me. ;)

I'm currently experiencing a bit of an issue in the beginning of the game where going to the next field scene (md1_1) where you meet Barret and Jessie, everything is completely slowed down and sometimes crashes. I did update to the latest FFNx driver and restarted with only this mod enabled, still get the same thing. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Man, I really dig this mod. Is there any way I can use both these field textures and SWY's upscales? I think it'd be jarring to have these beautiful recreations one second and then the low-res official backgrounds for areas that haven't been completed in this mod. Beautiful work, jusete!I´m doing the fields following the main story of the game. Most of the scenes i´m doing in Midgard have animations and they work fine, unless your are talking about other animations I´m not aware...
By the way, I have a question/request: I think it would be great if the scenes that include animations may be prioritized before any other because even if now there is a way to play the animations in the upscaled scenes, it seems that enabling that takes a huge performance hit on very powerful computers too.

I have a question, I've tried searching but to no avail. I'm using the iro posted a few pages back in December of all your current fields. How do I add these new releases to that iro? I found a png > dds converter which converted that iro to dds files (i have no idea if they were or weren't png etc)
Mainly I'd like to keep updating it as you release new fields, otherwise would I need to wait till new iro's are released that contact all current fields?

I'll have some time on the weekend though and ill try to finish the train station. I'm more active in the discord channel so if you have any questions just post it there.
That's why I asked, to know if he was is resting, on vacation or has stopped making mods for reasons like work and stuff like that. I wouldn't mind to support him if he was on patreon (I do it with Xenoverse 2 modders). I'm not precisely the biggest fan of FFVII Remake and this field project is something amazing that makes it possible to have a faithful remake of the game.

I thought the whole time, and maybe other people too, nothing happened here and now I see the package were updated a couple times, but no comment in this thread here... thanks for sharing the links bonez. i use different fields mixed together, so typically i need to install Jusete one by one in a separate file as they release and doing it this way is easier than installing from the catalog. you said they are being released on the discord? would that be the Tsuna discord? because i dont see a Project Edge category there. is there another discord i can find?
