FF7 NPC-RP help, game freezes when I enter battle

Hey, I just got the thing working... it took a while but
I'm running:
Windows XP v 02
AMD ATHLON XP 2500+
1.84 ghz
512 ram
sound blaster live 24bit
Nvidia geforce fx 5200

i've searched this forum and I can't find it, Im running the High rez patch, ff7 music, cetra

but when i start a new game, when cloud jumps out of the train,
he can move and all the models look good, I can open my config
but when the two gaurds come out to fight me the game just locks up, with the music still going, the gaurd on the right dissapears and it will stop playing the music when i hit enter, but I can't get into battle

Any suggestions?

You might want to try YAMP's MiniGamesPatch with integrated BattleSwirlFix. More info here.

It didn't work man, Unless I patched it wrong, I dunno there was only onething to do, click the install one and it said patching done press any key

Damn... I want to play the new improved game so bad....

how would the battle swirl thing work

Man I dont know whats going on, I"ve been working on this project for like 3 days now, i've been putting a lot of time into it

I dont know whats causing hte prob, I did the battle swirl, moved the high rez patch, ran in compatibility
the models look great but I dont know what is causing hte problem..

I've tried re-installing and doing EVERYTHING over again, still nothing

I can't even open my config without the game freezing then it says ff7.exe encountered a problem or ff7.bak sometimes...

this sucks!!!!!!
I know I'm not supposed to keep postin when no one else is but im just trying to keep it updated, I did the full installation
I think it 's something to do with the npc v. 06

But if you guys could like give me a linking to a working reunion patch, I'd rather take that route at this point, this shit locks up everytime i get into that first battle or try to open my config

Does it also freeze without NPC-RP installed?

How you instal NPC0.6? With LGP tool? Do you have english Local settting?
Lgptool has bug if you dont have proper(english) Local setting.

I wouldn't think so Di, i'm pretty sure the prob has somethin to do with npc rp

Search forum, there is this bug described somewhere.

If you don't have files in folders sorted based on english alphabet, LGPtool cause bug.
So you must set Control Panels - Local Setting - English

If you dont use NON-english windows, you should not have problem.

Or try use Highwind.


And try game without patches, to be sure, if it do patches:P

doesn't work.. I've reinstalled and done over and over , still nothing,  my O button works though = D

God I really wanna play the game with this patch..

I only said that LGPtool has nonenglish system bug, but if you has english system, maybe is bug somewhere else...

Techs?  No, they're not paid tech support.  So they might be attending to their lives.

If it works without the NPC patch, then that certainly looks like the culprit.  Sounds like you made a misstep in installing the patch, or there was a problem when LGPtool extracted your field character archive.  Oh, and it's not the "damn reunion patch,"  lots of people work hard on this forum to do with this game what we thought unthinkable even two years ago.  Try to show a little respect for others' works.

Sorry but I don't use to come around this sub-forum (and looks like ice_cold513 and stormmedia don't use to do it either). You could have tried sending us a PM.
Anyway, have you tried using teh windows 95 compatibility mode?
