Releases / Re: New Avatar Pack
« on: 2020-05-13 16:27:04 »
I've taken Chrysalis' IRO that he created and made a couple of corrections, updated the IRO for 7th Heaven 2.x, added preview images, and a "Quick Select" option that will select a suite of images for all characters at once rather than having to select them all individually.

Would it be OK to add this to the Mods of the Round catalog in 7th Heaven?

lol, someone was doing the same thing to me for like a month, and as you said, like clockwork on a daily basis.

No. The 7H 2.0 dev team consists of 2 people (but there are important and appreciated contributions like the Qhimm mod catalog and support from EQ2Alyza and several people). We haven't been involved in 7H's history. We started with 7H 2.0, and it was conceived of and released in only a matter of 3 months. 7H will continue to do what 7H does best and will just improve over time just as it did from 1.x to 2.x for however long we feel like working on it. 7H is not in competition with anybody else's work, just as it doesn't compete with Reunion. While I respect the work that DLPB has done and his contributions to the community, I personally abhor Reunion. But that doesn't stop me from recommending it to someone when it fits their specific needs. Different strokes for different folks.

How would I find out what changes are in that mod please?

Look at its description in the catalog (Browse Catalog tab, select the mod, see info under "Mod Info").

Hello. I want to thank the developers of this mod manager and apologize for my bad English.

I don't know, if someone already solved my problem, but i didn't find it, so i try to ask here. Right now, i'm playing FF7 using "Remastered OST" from "Media - Qhimm Catalog", and that version of music has a glitch in Cosmo Canyon, in the scene where Nanaki learns the story of his father. At first, music plays normaly, but when Bugenhagen asks everyone to leave him with Nanaki alone, music suddenly start playing one short sequence from track over and over. It's leads to the sutiation, when music can not end, so as the scene, and game just crashes.

I got around this problem, just by switching the music mod to another option. But does anybody knows, what should i do, if i want to play whole game with "Remastered OST"?

Thank you.

You'd probably want to report that here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15902.0 but I don't know that the original author is still around, or if anyone would want to bother with fixing it.

Troubleshooting / Re: Modded FF VII crashing

Please search the forum, this has been answered many times. I would recommend download 7H 2.1 when it releases soon and it should be a lot more stable.

Troubleshooting / Re: starting issue
« on: 2020-05-08 12:07:44 »
You audio device is probably misconfigured. I recommend leaving it on the default Auto-Switch.

83
It's not clear what you're playing/using. That soft reset shortcut is not available in the 1998 version (which is what 7H uses and you put a screenshot of). 7H doesn't touch your saves in any way. But then you say you're using Steam... Are you using Reunion? FFNx? FFNx had some issues with save files recently.

84
Your image isn't showing, so can't see exactly what you're talking about. But, if 7H can't find the game, it means something is wrong with your registry. Perhaps you installed multiple copies in different folders at some point. You should be able to just go into 7H>Settings>General Settings and point to the correct location. Even if you don't have an ff7.exe in the correct folder, select your ff7_en.exe and 7H will fix it for you.

Troubleshooting / Re: Game loads into a black screen
« on: 2020-05-07 04:51:23 »
I'm assuming your log got cut off (please post such large amounts of text on pastebin or link somewhere next time), but there's nothing interesting in there that shows what the issue could be. Did you change your audio device settings in Game Launcher? Make sure it is on Auto-Switch (Windows Default) as the black screens on load can sometimes be a symptom of the sound device being set incorrectly. Also think about what changed/what was added during the time it worked to when you started receiving the error. Also since it might be driver related, post your app.log from your ff7 folder.

86
Open the 7H_GameDriver.cfg file in your ff7 folder and you can change the texture memory manually from 2048 to 4096 if you want and that may help, or it could even make things worse. FYI, if you use the UI and click save, it will overwrite the setting though. Some fixes are coming with 7H 2.1 within a few weeks also.

7th Heaven / Re: Crash.

You can try adding ff7.exe to your Windows' DEP whitelist. Watch your RAM usage in the game driver by turning on a "stats" option. You can turn that on in Settings>Game Driver. If your RAM is 900MB or higher with your mods, you run the risk of crashing. Also be sure to try running without mods (if you have a repetitive crash in the same spot/doing the same thing) as a mod can cause crashing at times. Turn them off then enable them one by one until you find the culprit. Some fixes are also coming in the next few weeks in a new version if you can wait that long. Lastly, it's not yet supported in 7H but it will be included in a future version, you could see if you have better luck installing FFNx.

I just barely got started testing a DS4 wired, and unfortunately I don't have a BT adapter to test a DS4 wirelessly. I use an Xbox One wirelessly using Microsoft's adapter that works fine. Maybe someone else has your same config and can help.

89
Make A/V or Windows' DEP is interfering? Try adding your ff7.exe to both whitelists. Beyond that, the game driver may not like your system for whatever reason, but this is the only known case of this problem happening AFAIK. You could try swapping out the game driver w/ FFNx. It's not officially integrated/supported by 7H yet, not until a future release.

I've been having an issue with some mods not loading with 7H. IDK if this has already been addressed or if this is a 7H issue specifically but I didn't see it in the FAQ so I figured I'd try asking here. I checked if texture caching was an issue but that didn't solve anything. Model replacers load fine but texture replacers don't (battle/field/spells) & its not just the textures but ESUI isn't working either? I even tried unpacking my fields replacer & putting them in direct & still no results.

Check your "Textures" path under 7H>Settings>General Settings. It should point to your FF7\mods\Textures\ folder. If the folders don't exist, create them manually.

91
You shouldn't be having crashes when running without mods. Perhaps another issue with DEP. Add ff7.exe to Windows' DEP whitelist and give it another shot.

92
There are known bugs with the newest NAudio package. It's been rolled back for 7H 2.1 and *may* fix this issue. For the time being, you should be able to edit any settings in Game Launcher in your settings.xml file in Notepad.

93
Try tinkering with your settings in 7H>Settings>Game Driver. Double-check your available drive space. Very low disk space causes extreme slowness issues and of course makes virtual memory useless.

If you press a button or key to get past the intro movies, does the game itself work OK, or is it just getting bogged down on the movies? (There are skip FMV mods out there, or as a test you can even rename your movies folder so they aren't accessible by the game--it'll still run, just with glitches). Also check your app.log in ff7 folder to see if anything is obviously wrong in there.

Troubleshooting / Re: How to back up save files?
« on: 2020-05-05 09:25:54 »
Just copy all of your .ff7 files from the ff7\save\ folder to somewhere safe then restore them later. That's generally where the saves are, but if you're running native Steam version (not converted) then your saves are under your Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VII Steam\user_xxx folder.

Troubleshooting / Re: Crashing FF7
« on: 2020-05-05 09:23:56 »
You can try disabling your mods to see if that fixes the issue, as some mods can cause crashing in certain parts of the game. Sometimes your game driver settings like PBO if turned on can cause issues. I usually recommend staying with the defaults as much as possible. It seems a bit early in the game, but it's possible it could be the dreaded memory allocation problem, but that should be fixed in the next update. Save often.

Hi guys, I have a problem, the installation works perfectly for me, but how can I translate ff vii into Spanish? nice, and epic works guys!
You'll have better luck searching these forums and other threads (plus I have no idea what is going on for any language translations to the game, well exception Italian,--but you can bet they're going to be out there). This thread is for 7th Heaven 2.0 specific posts. I can tell you that 7H will have support for many languages including Spanish on the next update though!

Well, unfortunately I've never had a need to use any of these programs because I have an xbox controller and just used the sticks instead of the dpad/triggers. I'm currently testing 7H 2.1 updates using a DS4 controller with all of this built in, with no need to use 3rd party tools. So, I understand what needs done and I've seen some screenshots of different programs and they seem very straightforward in usage. But as I said, I am no expert in these things because I've never had to use them.

I don't like dropping names, but he's always been happy to assist-- in the Tsunamods Discord is a guy named (Manager) Cleet. He is seemingly like "The Controller Whisperer", very familiar with a couple of programs and even has already-made profiles for certain configurations that you can load up into Anti Micro (maybe others).

98
I'll take a look at it. Since you just purchased FF7, did you have it previously (pirated) and you installed your genuine to the same folder? Also please click Play in 7H, then send me your 7H applog.txt file. Thanks!

Edit: Also please send me the original location of where this language pack comes from so I can verify its authenticity.

Edit 2: Sorry, I can't help you with your "language pack". It comes from a well-known cracking/piracy group.

I tried xinputplus while troubleshooting other issues with someone and was not fond of it, but that's not to say it doesn't work, although I can't confirm it does work either.

You will set your key bindings in your chosen mapping tool based on the controls you have set in 7H. Go to 7H>Settings>Game Launcher>Controls. There are a list of presets there to choose from. This has nothing to do with the functionality of your controller/driver/etc. It merely sets the keys and buttons for you. You can import (floppy disk icon) your own custom controls from the game into a preset.

The 1998 presets use the numpad on the keyboard to get into the game. The Steam presets use x, c, v, and other weird keys. I recommend you set one of those presets, then go into the game, menu, config>controllers. Then you can see exactly what each key and button are set to and if you're happy with that preset, set your mapping tool to the appropriate keys. Although, you should only need to do that for dpad and triggers. What controller are you using? Did you check your preferred controller in Control Panel?

7H thinks your game is pirated. If you have a genuine copy of the game with proof, I can help you troubleshoot the problem. If it's pirated, don't waste my time because I'll know anyway.

If you need to purchase the game, FF7 is currently $5.99 on a Steam sale right now. Don't hesitate because the sale ends in a couple of days.
